Zab really does have his own style. Less so recently, but WMC of last year, my goodness... His style to me is techy stuff that has the potential to be beautiful, funky, or chilled, with a very noticable hint of cheekiness on the side
Thanks Jason for the sample
This track is pretty sweet.
lol @ Folye saying someone shouldnt produce
This coming from the man who made Cheese Theme Dusk

nulling someone's opinion because of their own productions is pretty much on the same level as the old "don't knock it unless you can produce better yourself" jibe
Actually its not
Its Ironic for a shit producer to tell another producer to stop producing
Its like Oakenfold telling someone not to sell out

Dont know about you
But saying that somoene shouldnt produce sounds pretty abrasive to me
Foyle is a big boy, he can take criticism, no need for the groupie squad to voice their "opinion"
Who's on a "groupie squad?" And how does your "opinion" somehow matter more than other peoples' "opinions?"
I was just making an observation.
¡Tayfoon starts a war again!

yet you wouldn't have batted an eyelid if a non-producer said it, which is what makes it shitty. just in the way people don't have to be producers themselves to criticise the productions of others, those who ARE producers shouldn't have to use their own material to back up their criticism
I think people who work in the same industry and do the same thing have more weight to their words

| Originally posted by DJ RJT Are you saying that you think his remixes of Ficta - "Eli" are somehow lacking? If so, no offense Mike, I really dig your productions and even the ones I don't, I recognize and respect as, for the most part, being VERY well produced, but those remixes (Rave Lizard and RL Reprise) are both better than most of what I've heard in your discography. IMO, James doesn't produce enough. |
personally, i think his mix of ficta - eli is his best track to date. perhaps not very complicated technically but i don't give a fuck about that, it's definitely a good track in my opinion.
how come it lacks imagination, the vocals he added fit perfectly and actually enhance the track, who could have seen that coming?
Yo Mike!!
Shipwrecked = AWESOME PRODUCTION!!!

why can't we be friends, why can't we be friends
Heard this played out during WMC, its definately fun live. Like most Jz productions, its something that fits well into his own sets, but can prove hard for other djs to fit into their sets. Its not as catchy as Robophobia and I don't think itll be as big of a track either, but definately a nice complement to his sets. Skanksuary is still my favorite original production of his. I'd give it a 6/10
