So good to hear the sound updated... it totally appealed to me all over again on such an awesome level, not least of which was because it was what started it ALL for me! JEm |

Captain Hollywood Project - More and More
Culture Beat - Mr. Vain
Spring/Summer 1993...

How I wish he still made/played stuff like this.
Speaking of Binary Finary a couple days ago...what about 1998?
Way too many.
But what converted me from dance music to actual EDM was..
Paul Van Dyk - We Are Alive

First it was stuff like:
Reel 2 Reel - I like to Move It
Chris Sheppard crap
Then maybe:
Dance Mix '94, '95, '96
Following that, when I was a kid and dance music was popular for a little while, stuff like:
-> Aqua
-> Love Inc.
-> etc
The next phase was less pop but still cheese:
-> Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone
-> Dune - Hardcore Vibes
Then some classic trance:
-> Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia
-> Lost Tribe - Gamemaster
The first liveset I ever downloaded off of Napster on my 56k modem was Paul Oakenfold - Live At Shadow Lounge. There were tons of great tracks on that... Tastexperience - Highlander, Ascension - Someone, and so many other great classics.
mr vain
call him insane....
he said
I know what I want and I want it now.. I want you, cuz im mr vainnnnn
I have always liked dance music but what really got me listening was the dancey sorta songs of the early 90s. 2Unlimited, Culture Beat, London Beat, Captain Hollywood Project, Robin S, Ace of Base, Haddaway, SNAP!, La Bouche, Todd Terry & The Real McCoy were big influences.
But if had to pick just one track that sealed the deal for me it would have to be: Missing (Todd Terry mix) - Everything But the Girl.
