Not really, because either way, they aren't going to approach it any differently......they are at the mercy of their limited skillset.

but then again, they'll be far more likely to want to mix out of a track with a less eventful outro, rather than one where the chordchanges & lead synths play right to the end (in the same way that they'd prefer 32 bars to 8 bars). yes, i'm aware i'm pointing out the obvious, but it seemed to me like that was the kind of advice the guy was after

So what track does that?

Is that what this guy's asking? How to make a decent intro/outro?

well.. close enough:

EIGHT

thread over.

Posted by isoterra on Apr-29-2006 04:34:

it isn't eight, ishkur. you rarely hear trance DJs phrasematching to multiples of 8 that aren't also multiples of 16, and the transitions are seldom eight bars long

well i'm back again. hey hey.

ishkur, it seems to me from your dance history site that you have been doing this for a while.
i did not listen to popular music at all for a long time, being in the world music and classical music world. (also one eyed if not 2 eyed)

the whole development of house in chicago and all the early stuff i didnt hear at all, and didnt even know happened.
great that your site helps us type.
i actually found out about the doof doof (tr-909 sounding kick)beat by accident when at a set of traffic lights a spekky car whizzed past with the big booming 'TWIGHLIGHT ZONE-2UNLIMITED' BURSTING OUT.
for me the doof doof(tr-909 sounding kick)outheavied heavy metal, and i asked someone at the lights what was that, and they said you can hear that sort of thing at night clubs. this dance beat was quite a shock to the system physically,
i went and have been hooked since.
in those days were club mixes like they are now?,
as regards to opening bars and outgoing bars.

also i feel that more things were going on in the songs and instrumentals in those days, compared to now, which is slightly more minimalistic. my
single is abit more like james brown is dead, rave the rhythm and tribal dance-2unlimited in terms of amount of stuff happening.
just wondering whether modern djs dont mind.

I never thought I'd be +1-ing Ishkur, but the guy is right...

Just make whatever the fuck it is that you want to make and please stop asking "oh, would a DJ like this?", "would a DJ approve this?", "will a DJ play my song if I do this?", "WWDJD?"...man, if you want to suck DJ dick just ask!

This whole thing is getting really annoying and it speaks a lot about yourself as a musician.
