i haven't had any problems with mine. i've had it since october and nothing has gone wrong.
my brother has had his ipod video since janurary and hasn't had any problems either.
I'm loving the 22 hour battery that's now in my 3G iPod.

my sony has 50 hours continuous playback 
my 60GB video lasts a pretty fckin long time...i'm not sure about 50 hours though.
I thought this thread should have been closed by now
