i prefer United (and Lufty )

Delta Song is pretty good.

American Airlines is nothing like it used to be.

Okay, I'll tell you what happened.

I was flying back to school from a conference and we were late. Cuz the Delta plane was broken and there was no Delta mechanic at the airport. We waited like 3 hours which meant I missed my connection according to the schedule.

So, we arrive in Atlanta and I think ooooooooh, I missed my connection. Now what? And I wasn't in this country that long and you know, in a huge airport in a foreign country la la la (you're supposed to feel sorry for me...)

... I get off the plane and ask the woman in the Delta uniform at the little desk next to where we exit about my connector flight. She looks it up and she says oooooh that plane is leaving in 3 minutes. WTF.

So we, with heavy sweaters and heavy backpacks, don't want to wait for the shuttle or whatever that thing is called that is inside that airport so we run run run fast fast bumping banging into people for what seems like hours, running like 5 km (3 miles) through the crowds, to get to the other gate and when we get there...

the plane that we are supposed to catch...

the one that was leaving Atlanta in 3 minutes according to the Delta woman...

it hasn't even left NY yet.

lol It's funny now especially thinking of us sprinting through those corridors but ooooooooooh wow, we were sooooo deflated and ended up waiting for like 10 hours, sitting on the floor (it was very crowded because all the planes from north eastern US were late cuz of the bad weather)...and every time we asked the airlines employees, they said, we expect to depart within the hour.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

That's some insanity....and goes to show you how inept some of the airport staff can be. Sorry you had to endure that, sweets.

I flew with Delta for about 9 hours from Atlanta (omg that place is huge) to Milano..and I had first class, and I loved it, I mean I dont have any problems with Delta. Ive only had one bad experience when I was flying from San Antonio to Boston..but it wasnt anything major. US Airways is good too, and so is Northwest.

I guess, I just love to be in a plane..so I dont really care about little things. Thats why I love those long flights to Europe. Oh and my other great flight wass from Istambul to NYC..what a great flight, long but good. Turkish Airlines is very good too. I would hate to fly with American Airlines..after 9/11..I wouldnt fly with them, or United.

American Airlines is fucking terrible.

AmericaWest sucks.

Delta, TWA, USAir... i don't even know if those exist anymore but i hated flying them when i was younger.

NorthWest i've never had any problems with.

Midwest Express is rad, and they serve you hot chocolate chip cookies.

Alitalia FTW! my flights to and from Greece were by far the most easy-going and amazing airline experiences i've ever had.

i love airports and flying.

Posted by Intellekshual on May-04-2006 02:45:

ALL American airlines suck balls... (ecxept for maybe Lufthansa).
"Royal Air Maroc" first class FTW , the service is indeed "Royal".. the food's good, the Moroccan sweets are to die for. U have lots of room.. you can do a yogic headstand in there if the mood takes u...

I hate airports.

Since 9/11, I HATE airports (in the US) but I still love flying. Especially when I'm alone and have the seats next to me free.

Hi Lucid!

Delta and US Air still exist.

TWA....extinct.

I'm glad to hear you had no problems with NorthWest.

When i went to Atlanta I went through AirTran which was good but then again it was only 1 1/2 hour flight so of course it can't be too bad!

Other than that I have flown American Airlines twice this year to Toronto which was another good flight and on time and then again for San Francisco last month considering i had to be on a fuking plane for almost 6 hours it was good.

N American flights i prefer AA :] . I think i already have that seatbelt commercial memorized

Alitalia FTW!

and to extend on that further, i'll just tell you about what it was like when i flew home from Greece...

the Alitalia flight from Italy to NY was fine, but i was crammed into a window seat and couldn't sleep, and i was runnin on like 3 hours of sleep from the night before. so whatever, the flight itself was great but i was still pretty frustrated...

once i get back to NY i still had another flight from NY to Chicago, and that one was on American Airlines.

so we board the plane, this tiny little thing with 2 seats together and then 1 seat across the aisle... probably like 20-30 seats total. it's hot as hell on the aircraft (this is in NY, in February... it shouldn't be hot) and the air smells and feels like it hasn't been circulated in like 5 days. the flight attendant was this trashy looking older lady who wobbled her fat ass up and down the aisle and had absolutely no professional conduct whatsoever... she sat there on the phone for 20 minutes trying to figure out how to "arrange" the passengers so that this fat redneck dude could sit next to his wife instead of in one of the single seats, which he couldn't fit his ass into, lol.

i just sat there with my head in my hands... my facial expression was probably resemblant to the emoticon in UWM's avatar.

now, anyone who has traveled to Europe knows that it's kind of a bummer to come back into the states... the culture shock was kind of rough for me and i started noticing and realizing things that i never paid attention to before. so coming back from an amazing vacation in Greece and having to sit on that plane was one of the worst flying experiences i've ever had... and on top of that, once we finally took off the entire plane was just rattling and making noises that sounded very abnormal. i was just dying to get back to Chicago and land safely and go home.
