ehhh idk, im only now starting to realize that 40$ for ANY DJ is just ridiculous... where were these "TRANCE IS THE BEST MUSIC EVER, AND SO IS DJ TIESTO!" people when Scot Project or Above and Beyond (i heard it wasnt real packed) or Jon O'Bir or Ferry came into town (with better mindblowing music and not always the same ol top-40 trance hits playlist)... and you mentioned the hot women... of course a Tiesto party brings hot women, hot 16-20 year old girls are the ones that buy all the new PURE TRANCE or ULTRA TRANCE compilations of the past few years, where all of Tiesto's music is on... its not like "looooooove comeeeees againnnnn" isnt still on heavy rotation on KTU... whoops, it is.... the types of people u see on myspace with Tiesto's music on their page have their favorite clubs list with "Neptunes, DNA, Webster Hall" and Crobar because of the other time they saw Tiesto....

...sorry for my rant, may seem like a hater but you could have brought an Alex MORPH, a DuMonde, an anybody in the trance world and the tracklist would be the same... if u think the "showman" aspect of Tiesto is gone, i heard some stories about a gig of his at WMC that would beg to differ... think about it this way... with 40$ admission, you paid 10$ for every hour he played... was it worth it?

did u go to the party? how do you conclude that "you could have brought an Alex MORPH, a DuMonde, an anybody in the trance world and the tracklist would be the same" from the 7 tracks mentioned otherwise. People in the montreal forum said they couldnt id all but 1 or 2 songs from his set.

And $40 for any DJ here, by comparison, is too much, i agree. However, we in NA are privelidged. These parties cost a lot more in Europe.

And you know what, ill say it myself. To see a great set is rare these days (at least in toronto). There is a lot of good music, and good parties, but not great ones. The last great party here was back in 2004 on a boat cruise with armin and it cost $70+, and you know what, it was money i wouldnt hesitate in spending again. That was Armin, and IMO, Armin isnt even close to Tiesto in terms of club performances (based on the many times ive seen both here).

I also fail to see what 16-20 year old girls, or radio stations that still play love comes again has anything to do with his latest performance.

His name is Kai (used to be part of the duo Chris & Kai) and he was using ultrasone headphones... I just asked him myself. Check out his site: http://www.dj-kai.com/

As such, it was impossible to look at both the stage and the screen, and I chose the stage, so I have no idea what was on the screens. What glipses I did see, however, were of Window Media Player type visuals, sort of like the ones that they always have at Psytrance shows.

nice! im assuming the light show was great!

I'm making the same post on both the Thursday night and Friday night review threads --- does anybody have any pics from either night?

Posted by Sveta on May-07-2006 15:20:

I'm late with my review but better then never
First of all i want to thank H&H for being here with me. Tijs wouldn't feel that great if you werent around.
I agree with most things that were said about Thursday night. It was a different night, with Tijs playing partially ISOS style and then harder. I enjoyed it but i really missed Chris visuals. Somebody posted that it was a good thing but i love to see "Sound of Tiesto" and feel like i'm in his world right now. Too bad!

It was great to finally meet Ammora - you are a sugar babe with the most beautiful blue eyes i have ever seen
DJ. A.K. - Thanks for the compliment. I have to say that you are one of a very few men who really knows how to dress. Plus we share the same cultural background and fields of work. Great talking to you. I saw you were really enjoing Tijs set.
Mischa!!!! DOn't you have more fun in NYC than in Amsterdam LOL
Nick!!! Wow, i'm sorry. We met in a wrong time. I felt you wanted to help us to get in when i found out I wasn't on Tiesto GL. But i think my name was so many times on the Dj's lists so they just let us in without giving any trouble. Pity i haven't seen you afterwards. I would love to talk to you!!!!

Thanks for the compliment as well. I'd probably say that I'm only just 'studying' the feild, but it was unexpectedly refreshing to have a conversation about East European politics/diplomacy on the dancefloor of Crobar. Then again, I was a bit , so sorry if I sounded weird at all during the conversation hehe... The last time I was having a political conversation in 'Cro must have been during that Hillary Clinton fundraiser a few months back.

Anyway, I have to say again that Tiesto was truly good, and that I advise people to first go and see if the rumors are true about a DJ 'coming back' rather than starting multiple threads making fun of him before he's even had a chance to throw down the set.

Definitely. You know how to find me Where is a Track list Nick? Chris ( Dj_RvK) needs you and so do I

I emailed Kai too, and he was able to give me some of the tracks he played. He really brought the party. I was really feeling Kai. Some tracks he dropped were:
Chanel - My Life (Haji & Emmanuel Mix)
Dirty South vs Evermore - Its To Late [Vicious Vinyl] you can hear it in
this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lYmOuD7REs
Kai vs Kered - Believe (Kered vs Kiraly electro mix) [Azuli promo]
Pacjam - Urban Minds
Cass & Mangan - I didn't mean to turn you on
Satoshi Tomiee - Glow (Spirit catcher mix)
Fred Everything - Friday (Trentemoller mix)

Tiesto opened nice, played my fav track right now Novocaine. I was so happy. Didn't stay for the whole set, I wasn't feeling too hot like right after Tiesto took stage. I had no idea Devant was closing...I would have LOVED to see him again. I thought he was just opening on Friday. Now I'm mad...wish I would have stayed.

Great party!

I know this comes late, but yeah Thursday was fucking ridiculous, and am so glad I got on stage again. That's ok, since I had Mike to protect me. I got in a picture with his girlfriend, and everyone was really sweet to me, just letting my crazy ass dance up there all night. I love being the club cheerleader! Tijs kept staring at me like 'who is this crazy chick' but everyone dug my moves, so they all got a good laugh and smile out of my energy. Only thing I noticed was he missed a downbeat, but he laughed it right off. I know he meant to do a 5/4 measure

I'm super late...but hell, i just registered for this thing, so better late than never.
must say, considering it was the first Tiesto show i've made it to the very end of, i left incredibly satisfied, relaxed, and greatful I met the few people i did that night and didn't attempt to bring anyone with me this time...new rule--no friends allowed! they just drag me down with their constant "i'm tired...i want to go home...are you done yet? i dont like this music" crap. trance music is my thing and that's how i intend to keep it...especially when I have the opportunities to meet people like I do at shows:
Skillz-- the consistent Crobar warrior I always see, but rarely meet up with when I make my from Philly---well, thanks to you for being my barricade buddy and i'll def. see you @ Armin!
Sveta--thanks for the compliment! You're sweet as a peach yourself! and your friends are incredible people with wonderful personalities and infectious energy!
I will certainly be making more trips up from here on out--even with the 7am sleepy drives home!
well, i'll keep my peace and save it for later..

Hey Woman, I'm glad you had a great time. I know what you mean by inviting people, then regretting it. I'm over that. Anyway, nice talking to you about Tool on the way home. We managed to catch a show in Chicago. It was pretty good. Take care - H&H from New orleans ! We have one more Tiesto show - Houston.

Good lord, I know just what you mean. When I first got on the scene I was excited to bring as many people as I could. Wow, so many lame people from my school brought me down! Some quotes: "Yo, this is fun... but I don't know how to dance to this; why aren't more people grinding?"; "We want a place to sit down and get some drinks, why is everyone standing?"; "Why's everyone cheering for this DJ, he isn't even cute!"; "Ohhh, my back hurts, when will this end?". I've had enough of that, and now I only go with a select few people (pretty much 2 or 3 that like the music and enjoy the parties) and if I bring new people I am sure to make it clear that I won't leave early, even if they want to.

Hehe, just had to vent there; I feel your pain.
