Mind you this whole "organic" thing that people keep babbling about to make themselves feel better is an utter scam.

oh wow, is that a joke? you are aware that there has been virtually no longterm testing of the effects of GM food on humans right? there are also good reasons why organic is higher priced-cuz its actually better for you! these farmers dont just spray chemicals on the field and walk away. not being grown with synthetic chemicals=healthier. i wish you could have been to some of the seminars i've been to regarding the chemicals that food growers use and the effects of this shit over time not only on humans but the environment. organic everything is a far superior choice.

Ok. You seem to be confusing Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) with herbicidal/insecticidal or any kind of " 'cidal" chemicals used to kill flora and fauna. I'm merely talking about modifying certain genes of plants, to obtain, larger yields, size of fruit/vegetable, increase nutritional value.

nope, not confused at all. i believe you said that GMO's were an acceptable option and i disagreed because of the lack of longterm testing. you then went on the call organics a scam, which i also disagreed with because the fact that they dont use chemicals does make them a healither choice and therefore not a scam.

Long term testing? How about selective breeding? that's a way of forming GMO's, if not a less accurate one, especially since you're messing with 100's if not 1000's of genes, and seeing hardly any negative effects. I think the way GMO's are made today is just taking it one step further.

Moreover, this whole GMO scare is always blown way out of proportion, thanks to the way the media portrays it, via oversimplification (and it doesn't stop there, but I digress), without REALLY explaining how it is done or how it works exactly *cough* Toronto star (ohhh they are famous for oversimplification...)

I see it as a scam why? Because the way they market it as "miracle food" and this recently very large health concious market just buys into it blindly IMO.

Actually I found this interesting article:
