| Originally posted by RapidFire and I never said dont buy it, I just mentioned that if you do, dont be suprised if technical problems that follow. thats all. a fair warning, no? there are definetly positive aspects about the ipod (large storage, click wheel, design, etc) but everyone knows them so I didnt think they were really worth mentioning. |
The fact is, VERTiG0 is a techy. He would take care of his stuff.
He replaced the battery, so those issues won't come up for another 3 years of HEAVY use(average life span for new Lithium-ion batteries).
In terms of the iPod breaking down: as much as I do not like iPods myself, they sell for a reason. They work, simple. No matter what kind of electronic equipment you buy, you will find somebody with a horror story, that is just part of manufacturing. They have the term 'lemon' for a reason, as well as warranties for this reason. You can go out and buy a $70,000 car, which never works properly. Its life.
He is trying to sell something with a good track record, I would trust him.
On a side note: Cale, has Apple put out any type of disk checking tool? To see if the hard drive has bad sectors or not? I have wanted to check that for my Creative, but I was just wondering if Apple has anything like that?

Just let the guy sell it. If people are curious as to if he's has problems in the past 5 years that he's had it, they'll ask before they buy. Not to mention even IF it did...that's still a good price for an iPod with that size harddrive and all the accessories. |

| Originally posted by RapidFire Maybe I did over do it with the bashing... its just that I have two friends who returned theirs. one was a past generation one and another one was the same one I had. both were technical errors. but didnt mean to spoil the sale for you, hope it does well. Im just hot off a second busted ipod and I guess I got carried away. apologies. |
