having you explain the random stuff that i missed from not ever playing any of the games really helped... i think if i had watched it on my own, i wouldn't have liked it as much.

oooomfg am i the only one that HATED this movie?!! this is a movie that actually made mission impossible 2 look good! fuck...the acting was BrUTRAL, n no im not talking about voice acting...i mean the character animation... i found it incredibly shallow and dishonest. it was who the $#%3@ talks like that or does that!?

i actually liked this movie a lot. i knew i was gonna enjoy the graphics/animation, but i actually enjoyed the story too.

the part where tifa says "Dilly dally shilly shally" nearly made me cry from laughing so hard. its the english version of her saying "zuduzudu zuduzudu" in the japanese version.
The rest of the movie was great. Kind of a shock hearing the english version after watching the japanese+subs a lot.

Zuru Zuru.

Otherwise, RJT... why you no show lucid the Final Fantasy VII special that showed off everything that happened in FFVII, the game? It was really helpful. Jogged my memory like WOAH.

I was VERY impressed with the animation. I couldn't concentrate on the story because I was in a daze the whole time

You guys wouldn't make fun of me if I admitted I watch it like once a week and have for a couple months now would you?

That's a bit extreme.

If there was an FF annoymous, I'd enroll.

awesome movie i've had it for like a year or so got it off the internet. the japanese version is much better than the dubbed english. Love this video game my favorite FF of all wish I never finished it, the movie was a nice compliment to the game. storyline was almost flawless wiht the movie, great movie!

Posted by tubularbills on May-12-2006 06:37:

i haven't seenthe movie. but the game was my favorite RPG game of all time [followed by FF3].

i still remember the first time playing it; and when the one girl died [i don't remember names cause i always named them after my friends, and not their original names] i was almost crying because i was so sad, and been enveloped so much in the storyline.

and unlike the PS version, the one on the PC you couldn't revive her. sad days it was.

i think i was also upset because i had built her vitals up sooooo much and then she was gone, leaving my other characters slightly weaker than i wanted.

wow, i'm a nerd.

A few things:

1) Aeris can not be revived without the use of a cheat device. (She is not meant to be revived - Watch the movie and you'll understand why!)

2) Her final limit break was the shit. Seriously. Like... I would have kept her in my party always.

3) Yes. You're a nerd. So am I.

this is true. i've heard that it doesn't really have any adverse effects later on in the game if you revive her and bring her with you. or could you not start the second disc with her? i remember this being a topic of discussion back in the day, but never found out the ramifications of bringing her back from the dead.

ftr, i wish Square had taken their damn time and finished the game properly instead of chopping it up and cutting corners just to make that holiday deadline

Posted by Zharen on May-12-2006 10:08:

Watched it twice. A bootleg copy in Japanese and then the legit copy in English. Still don't get a damn thing that's going on except that Cloud is super emo for losing Aeris. Yeah I'm sure it would have helped a lot if I had played the game, but I gave it a chance anyway. I can't hate on the graphics and animation. Those were very well done. I just wished they gave a tad bit more meat to Cloud's arms. He looked too much like a girl in the film.

The one thing i didn't like was the poorly done subtitles for the japanese audio. it seems like the skipped whole sentences and the grammer seems backwords. it's a good thing the english dub was very good.

It was actually subbed the way that the director and writers wanted it to be conveyed in English. Of course most lines weren't translated literally... but still, it didn't really ruin the entire experience.

ABOUT DAMN TIME!

Square Enix currently has the most gorgeous CGI title on the market...

...And you just happened to have watched it.

Posted by Blake on Aug-07-2006 18:45:

I saw the movie. I loved it for the action sequences. There was no way I was going to be able to follow the story line though. Not 10 years after the game. No way in Hell. Sad that they won't remake the game.

Appleseed [2004] fits your description.

but i can't really think of anything else that's CGI.
