How?

How do you become a member of the promotion pool?

You have to belong to one (or more) of these groups:

* DJ: As a DJ, you spin regularly in the hippest clubs and discos to supply the crowd with your music.
* Radio station: You work for a radio station as a radio DJ and/or you are involved in the creation of playlists.
* Journalist: As a journalist, you review and report about the latest music releases for one or several music magazines.
* Licensee: You work for a record company and are constantly looking for new material (e.g. for compilations) as a licensee.

Everything earlier and for free .. The free thing bothers me thou, if I like a release I always try to support the artist and pay for it

Just listened to the album.........
This is some serious quality work.

My only complaint is that a lot of the tracks sound very similar to one another. But that's probably being hypercritical though.

Besides that this is VERY, VERY, VERY good. There is not a single weak track in the entire album, all of them are most definitely better than 97% of what's being released right now and a few of them (e.g. If You've Made Your Peace) are absolute blinders.

What else...

the sound is very unique, occupying a sort of superposition state of old-style mid 90's trance, JOOF-style psy and techno: very refreshing. If there were an encyclopedia entry for "The Opposite of McTrance/Crap" I think this album would be mentioned.

9.8/10

Had to download from iTunes since i couldnt find it anywhere else. Now before i say anything about this album i must admit that im one of those people who sometimes end up enjoying a piece of work after hearing it a few times.

After listening through the first time im pretty disappointed. Being a big fan of J00f himself and after reading all the great reviews i definately expected alot more out of this album.

One of my main concerns is that alot of the songs sound similar. The beat doesnt change all that much and most of the songs have a similar whooshy, windy sound in them.

The worst thing about this album in my opinion is that its a little minimalistic for my tastes. The best word that i could describe this ablum with is "anti-climatic." None of the songs were built up much, and the melodies, although few, never lead me anywhere i didnt expect.

On a positive note, this album is definately better sounding than Synthology which was the last J00F release. One thing i did like is that this album's theme (clouds, nature, etc) was visual and present in the music. There are not a lot of artists who do such a good job sticking with the theme as well as Whirloop here. Very respectable.

Maby after ahwile i'll find a likeing towards this album. Could be next week or it could be next year. Right now it just doesnt click for me. Perhaps I need some time to build an understanding to this style. Ill post my thoughts after i give it a few more spins. 5.5/10

i liked the song for the most part

ok, yeah, some of them are minimalist but they do extreme damage on the dancefloor, especially "If you've made your peace". I found that out last night .

even though the album isn't supposed to present "dancefloor hits" i'm curious to know what happened Kenosis

The tracklisting from Saturday night is here:
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=354233
I'm pretty sure I forgot one other track in between Strange World and Imagination: some recent psytrance track. Bah, I forget.

It helps that everyone there already had a predisposition towards psytrance/hard progressive trance. No one was wanting to hear ASOT stuff .
What worked well is that all three of your tracks that I played kept the energy going in the set quite nicely, especially "If You've Made Your Peace". Yeah, they aren't anthems but the they gave the set a lot more cohesion than it otherwise would have had. 3rd Time Lucky, Evil Spice and Strange World appeared to be the crowd favorites, though people were still definitely digging your stuff .

ahh, wish i was there to see it.
i have never seen and heard my stuff in action wich is a pity...

A Fascination for Clouds is awesome. Great smooth track. The rest aren't really my cup of tea, but this one track is quite, quite nice.
