That's because to be able to study people not exposed to SOME level of other carcinogens would be impossible unless you locked them in a vacuum sealed room for the duration of the study.
However, the fact that the incidence of lung cancer is drastically higher in those who smoke vs those who don't allows us to reasonably conclude that there is a significant correlation between smoking and lung cancer, because those who don't smoke are generally exposed to all of the same OTHER carcinogens as smokers.
You're playing on the difference between cause and correlation....which in the case of smoking, there is not a big difference between the two.

THere is no SMOKE from a vapourizer. It works by heating up the water in the pot and turning it into water vapour. As this happens, it binds with the THC(active chemical in pot), and is contained in the vapourizer. All you inhale, is water vapour and THC, no plant substance, and there fore no tar.
Ive had one for years, and it is wonderful for those people with sensitive lungs.

Understandable. Society has pounded it into our heads that smoking cigarettes is so bad, that people just automatically assume that smoking pot is just as bad, if not worse. These perceived harmful affects of smoking pot have never been proven. As a matter of fact, it now seems that it is being disproven.
As far as I know, since it was initially criminalized in this country, pot has never been decriminalized. There was talk of decriminalizing it a while back, but it never actually happened. |
I have always believed that smoking cigarettes was very harmful to you body, and have believed that smoking pot is also harmful, but not NEARLY as much. However...that still hasn't stopped me from toking. I don't smoke cigarettes though - but that's just b/c I don't find any use in it.
As for the crimilization and decriminialization, I was under the impression that being in possession of a small amount of pot was not a federal offence. I don't know much about politics and that stuff though, and I know you are Graham so I trust you!!

3. what he said |
1. The same reason people are skeptical of studies that prove that smoking can cause lung cancer.
2. Well that your opinion. I think it tastes awesome.

I don't mind the taste of weed. I don't enjoy it as much as you do it looks like. Have you tried those pot flavoured lollypops?! Haha But I don't smoke pot for the taste, I smoke it to get high. So vaporizers are good in my books.

Correction: Actually, the "bud" is all leaf. Just condensed branches.

Correction: THC cannot be binded to water or sugar, It requires an alcohol or fat based molecule to piggyback. A vaporizer simply Heats the active chemicals (CNB's, CDB's, and the most common THC) which are then captured in a chamber ready to be inhaled

Okay, a couple of things here. Yes smoking cigarettes was banned in publice places. When non-smokers heard about it, one of the most common things i heard was "Yay, i won't stink of smoke anymore."
Same thing applies to pot. I personally can't stand the smell and hate pot in general. I don't care if you smoke it as long as you're not smoking it in my general area. There is no way they would let people smoke pot in clubs etc because people don't want to reek of it! It's the same argument with cigarettes, people don't like the smell so they don't want it around them. I love the smell but i can live with smoking in DSRs so non-smokers don't have to deal with it.
Another reason why I would hate for it to be allowed in clubs/public areas is because i can imagine the contact buzz some people would get. Pot highs make me paranoid and sick lol. So it's a factor to my health, even though it may not give me lung cancer. I think the way the Dutch deal with it is best. Smoke cafes where you can have your joints, hang with friends, etc without bothering the people who don't want to deal with it.

what about ppl that walk in the street and smoke cigs? I faking hate the smell. srsly tho i bet if u took a poll of all non-smokers they would prefer weed smoke to cigs. cigs smell like complete shyte to me, water pipes are fine but cigs are so nasty. and u can bet in 15 yrs if not less, pot will be allowed in clubs, it will be up to individual club owners whether or not to allow ppl to smoke and u can bet they will. the dutch? u think weed smoke is not allowed in dutch nightclubs? lol

And i hate the smell of pot, so i guess we're stuck on that one huh. As for pot being allowed in clubs, i'm sorry but i just don't see it happening in Canada. I guess we'll have to see though.
And when it comes to pot being allowed in nightclubs in holland, i have yet to go to a dutch nightclub where people are smoking pot out in the open. And i've been to many nightclubs in Belgium (who has the same pot policy as the Netherlands) and believe me when i tell you pot is NOT allowed to be smoked in there

If thats the case then I think the policy's a bit discriminatory. A buddy of mine went to a club(i think it was called escape) and got VIP access. He asked the bouncer if hes allowed to roll one up in the club and he was given full permission to do so.
