Why didn't anyone tell me they were heading to Vegas for Memorial??? I was there too! I danced at ICE Saturday night and Sunday night (though I would prefer to see Deep Dish @ JET) and I was also at Rehab on Sunday, dancing next to the DJ booth the whole time. I was conversating with Jes most of the time, she's a wicked chick...................
Tijs definitely made Rehab insane. It was the first time I can honestly say the west coast partied like the rest of the world, cause' it was nuts. The amount of people at Rehab and everyone enjoying themselves, all types of characters there. Not often you see a scene like on the westside. I was pretty impressed with the surroundings and I was sober!!
I didn't even see you at Rehab
Next time I'm in Vegas, I'll give you a call
My review still to come, I know...

| Originally posted by DaveT You've been kooked up in San Diego and LA too long, me thinks! LOL. Cause on the right night and the right atmosphere, no vibe on the west coast is better than SFs, IMO. And the vibe I speak of is never on a Friday or Saturday night. Armin + G&D @ Mighty on April 1, 2005. Free party. less than 24 hours notice. Small venue. PURE MAGIC. Spundae is bringing back that feeling here as a lot of its large parties are on Thursday or Sunday nights now. Hell, next time Armin plays here is on a Monday night (July 3). It's just a huge party atmosphere. It gets to a point where no one cares about the venue. Or the lighting. or the props. It's just abotu the party and the kick ass music. That's the focus. No one cares about anything else. It's just fun fun fun!! Ahhh, this totally brings back memories of the Chemical Brothers playing at Spundae on a Tuesday night here a couple years ago. INSANITY!!!!!!! |
Holland rocks.

Actually DaveT, no I haven't been kooked up in LA or SD for a long time. Infact, I've been fortunate to go all over the world, Ibiza, Trance Energy, Global Gathering in Stratford, Turnmills, SoundShaft, Fridge in Brixton, Amnesia, Luxy in Taipei, Pacha in Barcelona, DC10, Eden, Bora Bora, Space in Ibiza, WMC~(don't even get me started on that trip LOL) Ruby Skye, 1015, Cielo in Meat Packing district NYC, Moneypennies in Birmingham UK, shall I continue??? Oh yes Passion in the Uk where I had the best night of clubbing when Above and Beyond, John 00 Fleming, Eddie Halliwell, Ferry Corsten, Andy Bagguely and JFK were playing in one night a few years back before they kind of blew up here. And even Tidy boys with Anne Savage.......So NO I haven't been kooked up in SoCal. I bet you've been to alot of events as well working with Spundae. I'm not bragging, but I think I do have a small leverage to compare it to other events that I've gone to. I experienced Rehab for the first time and though it was overly crowded, it was such a fun time being there and Tijs did actually play a wicked set.
There's alot of places that yes with a good vibe and good crowd, it can be insane. I dance at clubs weekends and there can be times where the vibe sucks, the crowd is lame. But seeing it on that Sunday did remind me of Ibiza and how peeps didn't give a rats ass about anything but music and fun! We need more of that here!
Yes Clovis, Holland does rock! I went to this club in Groningen a couple years ago called 7 SISTERS cause' it has 7 cave like rooms, rotating bar, ladders to other hidden rooms. It was when the European cup was happening, Holland won their match. I swear the streets were so vacant cause' everyone was watching the game, reefer lingering in the air. As soon as it was over at 1 am, 7 SISTERS was packed in 20 minutes, f*&^ing insane craziness!!!! I had sooo much fun partying there with the Dutchies drinking this ridiclous shot/energy drink while on the rotating bar dancing on stools!!!! I LOVE HOLLAND AND PROUD TO DUTCH!! They are the best crowd!

The best vibe I've ever experienced was actually in Tokyo. It was NUTS. Like I thought everyone was gonna have a heart attack nuts
Dude, I totally know. Japanese go ape shit! Japan is a funny place, I had a blast seeing Marco V and DJ Precision in Taipei though, and again Taiwanese go ape shit! It seems as though they do this universal rave dance/maytag (head swinging back and forth manuever) move that I can never seem to pick up in moves.... those damn Asians!!!! (P.S I'm quarter Asian but I gots my own skillz!!)

I'm sure the club doesn't care because they are making boatloads extra from that sort of payola, greasing the bouncers, charging extra for GA at the door, and allowing other shady business to go on in side the club such as prositution. If wantickets wants to be affiliated with this sort of business that's their problem, but I am sure American Express doesn't, and I've already exercised my rights. |
