even Dj Sammy - Heaven is more classic than many tunes in this thread

Posted by queen_vee on May-30-2006 08:45:

Perhaps...

Conjure One - Tears From The Moon
Marco V - False Light
Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes
Andain - Beautiful Things & Summer Calling
Jan Johnston - Flesh 2002
AVB & G&D - Zocalo
Perpetuous Dreamer - Sound of Goodbye
PVD - The Other Side
Deep Dish - Say Hello
Ernesto & Bastien - Dark Side of the Moon
MIKE - Massive Motion
G&D - Tracking Treasure Down (yes it divides people, but it def aint generic... and I love it & it gets ALL the crowd singing along like a good trance vocal should)

Posted by Hot_Dog on May-30-2006 08:48:

most of these are good tracks, but i dont think they deserve "classic" just cuz most of them are from the past few years. how about something like robert miles - children.

I thought the point of the thread was which more recent tracks are actually going to be remembered?! Not much point saying Children/Age of Love/Cafe Del Mar/For An Angel... they're already undisputed trance classics that have stood the test of time.

Posted by Reactic on May-30-2006 10:55:

adagio for strings (by tiesto) is not old and will be remembered.

Posted by Cloud on May-30-2006 11:03:

Yes, it will be remembered as the shittiest remake of Adagio.

Posted by Oldman1313 on May-30-2006 11:07:

What you guys think about:

Above and Beyond: No One On Earth (G&D Remix)
Reflek: Need to Feel Loved (Thrillseekers Remix)

It was a blatant rip off of 'Remember'

good thread, I had the same idea, strange..

I think whiteroom - whiteroom can be considered as a classic, or not?

and as the rush comes, everyone should agree on this.

I can categorically say the day either of those is considered a true classic alongside some of the past ones, then I'll begin the mass suicide campaign. Classic as a rule goes to anthems, and as most of the new people say, anthem trance is in the past. Anything after 2002 doesn't qualify, with very rare exceptions from 2003.

Posted by noikeee on May-30-2006 13:35:

this debate is flawed in itself cause everyone has their own definition of classic.

Posted by Rainborn on May-30-2006 14:41:

Netherworld
Age of Love
Eugina
Voyage
Lost Vagueness

Yeah you get the picture.

everyone is mentioning age of love

but if your going to talk about 1993 classic you have to bring in cafe del mar by energy 52.. that would be more trancey then age of love with more trance structure.

Its hard to say.. the early 90s we're past that.. 10 years from now w'ell say something from 98-99 would be more solid for a definition.

as for tracks.. im unsure

I've not read any of this thread, but I can tell from the off it's going to be fucking useless as an objective debate, doubtlessly involving the old school elitists battling it out with the new-school newbies over what can be considered a classic.

Shit topic. Classics suck. Stop it.

I do.

Surprisingly enough.

It's the classics that we should be proud of, now that everybody's talking about Trance being dead and shit. It reminds "the masses" that Trance actually gave a memorable output to modern popculture.
