Come to London on saturdays this summer! lol
We have alot of djs from Toronto playing here every saturday now which started with Jelo back on May 24 weekend .. Deko-ze last weeknend, and we have Nathan Barato, Simon Jain, Hatiras, Brad Copeland, and Carlo Lio to come still. I can honestly say i'm looking forward to being able to stay here and not have to travel to Toronto every weekend.

And without support of at least some of the mainstream, all we will read about is how such and such club that used to play house is now playing hip hop. They draw a crowd, play fun house music, and are really nice guys. |

How did I miss this thread?
Personally, hats off to M&S for rocking this city night after night. They both have an undeniable natural talent and an excellent ear for playing what (seemingly appears to be what) Toronto wants. Congrats on the new night boys.
In other news...
IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THIS CITY HAS TO OFFER?
I did think Brad brought something totally different and fresh to the table. It was early days in his residency and imo the night wasn't even given a chance. I'd also like to point out that there is NO ONE in the world I'd trust opening for ANY DJ more than Copeland. (Sander, Howells, Deep Dish, ETC ETC) His versatility and experience with opening for global talent far exceeds anyone else I can think of.
i'd rather hear brad over M&S any day.
I too can see maybe why M&S make good business sense if they have the following. A large following is usually going to mean playing more commercial and attracting what everyone is calling the more "GINO" crowd. My question now though is ... how is the friday night programming going to change now that the resident is no longer a progressive tech/electro house DJ. M&S opening for the likes of say a Desyn of Nic F? ...I just don't see the fit. I have never really been a huge of of M&S but that isn't to say they are not good DJs. My music taste will always tell me that Copeland > M&S but I head to the club to be surprised by new...non commercial house tunes, well programmed set and DJ skills. Brad always delivered that. I do think Toronto is starting to put more effort into supporting the up and coming DJs who have great skills, unbelieveable new track selection and large following of fans who are in it for the music and I hope that continues. Still lots of work to do though as this city is currently saturated with flyers containing the same few DJs that have their hand in most of the cookie jars. I am excited to hear that Barrato is opening for Lawler. Well deserved for this guy. Hoping that is a sign of good things to come for this city.
Still...I am def going to be missing Brad at TIL
