i thought Faarsheed did a great job opening and really enjoyed Morillo's set. everyone else i was with seemed to agree.

this was the first time i had to deal with a bunch of morons at the club though.

there was one fight right next to our table i had to help separate, some guy started crap with a buddy of mine for some unknown reason, and near the end of the night this other guy starts giving me a hassle b/c this girl that he's friends with (in reality he likes but hasn't told her) started talking to me. geez.

Morillo was pretty god damn boring.

Bro, if you were seriously bored from Morillo's performance Friday night, well.... god help you

Same tricks for 4+ hours, he really needs to learn how to use the EFX unit.

Needs to learn the EFX unit?! Morillo gets down on that Pioneer EFX-1000 like no other (except maybe James Zabeila)

sorry, its not quite as simple as that... besides anybody can come up with simplistic exaggerations for any DJ; tell me your favorite DJs and I will give you a simplistic formula for how they mix

Actually it is as simple as that. And yes every dj has a formula that they use...but alot of djs don't do the same trick (note not tricks but trick) every mix. I'm sorry, but Morillo is just another example of a dj that made it big because no one else was spinning.

I was there and Morillo didn't even come close to doing the same "trick" every mix, but when he did do some of his many different tricks (note tricks not trick ) everybody seemed to be lovin it. C'mon dj_bas, tell me your favorite DJs and I will show how easy it is to make up an exaggerated, simplistic mixing formula like you did with Morillo.

Are you saying that you seriously believe the reason Morillo made it big, and is consistently voted in the top 20 of international "favorite" or "best" DJ polls(usually the highest ranking house DJ), has been nominated the 'best house DJ' for every year of the House Music Awards, headlined major festivals like Sensation, Creamfields, Ultra, etc... is because "no one else was spinning"(...whatever that means lol)?

I don't remember I was drunk

But yeah, I honestly heard the same trick (or two ) being played over and over. Filter effect/acapella house blows up lol. And when I say "no one else was spinning" I mean back before everyone and their neighbor had turntables. It wasn't as widespread and available as it is today.
