seems like alot of people here don't know what some basic terms such as "epic", "producing" and "djing" means.
We should make a sticky FAQ.

Thomas Bronzwaer

oh bah, sew me. he said he was out of the loop for a long time, that was an awesome set just in case he missed it.

Eric Prydz.

I still love epic trance, songs like that are what got me into edm in the first place.

Thomas Bronzwaer - Shadow World is quite possibly the most epic trance song of all time. Also check out the Midway Remix. I agree with the comment about 'supreme'saws. But I love it.

Kay Stone - Alone (Kasuma Vocal Mix) big sweeping buildup, nice femle vocals, big breakdown. Very epic.

Aalto - 5 is pretty epic, and both the original and Alex M.O.R.P.H. mix of Helisinki Scorchin are massively epic. And Arksun - Arisen. So yea pretty much just listen to ASOT and you'll hear some awsome anthem epic trance.

These tracks are so epic I think a dj would have a hard time pulling off playing any of these unless they're named Armin.

eh, a lot of the joof crowd have been doing it for me lately...

Posted by kr00t0n on Jun-07-2006 07:40:

Not much around lately that I would consider epic.

Nitrous Oxide - Frozen Dreams
Dj Tatana - If I Could (Ronski Speed)
Mark Thornton - Out of Silence (Skyform vs Spiral Motion)
Mystery Islands - Beautiful Dream
Duderstadt - Muhanjala (Sean Tyas)
K-DE - 4th Floor

Fred Baker is the first name that comes to mind.

Check out these tracks of him:
Fred Baker pres. Odyssey - Magic Pad (Fred Baker 2006 Remix)
Fred Baker pres. Sensation - Forever Friends (Original Extended Mix)
Fred Baker pres. Iguana - Beautiful Sunshine (Stoneface & Terminal Remix)
Fred Baker vs. The Keyboard Kids - All Of Us (Fred Baker Remix)
Fred Baker vs. Nyram - Confirmation
Siberian Sun - Frostbite (Fred Baker Remix)

A couple of good instrumental songs, then a crapload of shite with vocals, and now just shite

Their latest track (Jewel) is a bomb. Make sure you check the Deep Mix of that.

O'Callaghan, Tyas & Downey are by far 3 of the best/hottest producers around on the trance scene at the mo, without a doubt, all churning out 'quality' material, if you dont believe me check out some of the sets flying about.
In particular O'Callaghans Cruise Control, soon to be out, & Tyas's Lift. Pure quality.

generic crap at its best...if these guys are doing anything for the trance genre, they're digging its grave

Phynn's been pumping out some good trance choonage too over the past 2 or 3years.....

Lucids a classic, and Close encounters pretty good too.

Indeed

I would say for something big and epic sounding, nothing really along the lines of Dumonde, M.I.K.E. or Nu NRG for example have been put out. Best producers I can think of with that 'big room' sound are Sean Tyas, Firestorm and to a lesser degree, Adam Sheridan.

Man, I wish there was more tracks like Moments are Forever for example, epic tracks that didn't even need a bassline cause the synth was strong enough to kill someone.

Sander Van Doorn/ Mark Sherry / Marco G / Marko Nastic / Maori are some of the producers you might want to check out.

one of the few interesting producer which still puts out uplifting trance I can listen to without sleeping is Ace Da Brain. Funny that none of you mentioned him.

Thats because he was interesting in 2003/2004, now all his stuff sounds the same.

Funny no one has mentioned David West.
This guy, in my opinion is the answer to progressive trance's rejuvenation.

LOL!!!

Epic trance and progressive trance are mutually exclusive

I must admit but, his stuff does follow the same formula, but who gives, its all good

What a ton of crap to be called "huge epic anthems".

The bottom line is that no one of serious talent is.
