but yeah, i do like m&a (my job) and venture cap (hopefully a future job). and oakey, tx, space bros, etc. haha

Sorry, hope you weren't offended, I just thought it was fairly obvious from your job field that you could afford it.

And if I were your age, and could afford it, there's no way I'd be moving to an outer boro or Jersey. People do that when they get families and having a nightlife becomes less important.

It is recreation, but who wants to travel far for their entertainment. If you could, wouldn't you want to live closer to the mountains during snowboard season? You choose location based on both commute and proximity to your interests, so as to not waste time travelling, at least in my eyes.

there are trade-off's wherever you live - you just have to decide what's more important to you

i decided that if i'm here i might as well take advantage of living in manhattan, have a short 15 minute commute, etc. it's worth it to me to have a smaller place and have a shorter commute. others want the big house, yard etc. but for me, i don't want that - too much work to keep up a yard etc.

I also think that a lot of us who insist upon living in Manhattan do so because we tend to work a lot of hours, and realize that with longer commutes, we'd have no lives. I have a short commute, and last night i got home at 11 pm. If I lived further away, I'd get a lot less time to do my own things.

+1 to that!
