But what I was trying to say was to ignore VTI altogether for the moment (assuming there is no hardware defect) and record via the analogue outs. Should be problem solved until Access can iron out the bugs in the current OS.

It can take years to get it bug free

hey wassup derivative! For some people its only the Virus Control thats been acting up and if they only use it the way your suggesting it works fine for them. But For me, With the virus control or not its been acting up. For those people where even after the update just playing on the virus itself with no connection to the Computer other than Audio In it still freezes up and somtimes you get this naisty loud saw witch doesnt go away untill after a cold power down(removing the power cord). Somtimes the keys would be unresponsive after changing threw some patches, audio would just stop coming out of the virus but it would still be on. I did also try to re-install everything... did it about 5 times when I desided to Fill out of the beta form. The other thing is for some people the virus is working just fine.. 100% of the time..

When using Virus Master Asio Driver you can choose internal (qbase) or external (vti) clock source, so yes but only if you want to use vti as your soundcard. Maybe its possible with other asio drivers, but not creative's. I'm short on midi cables at the moment or I'd use my TI as a Virus D for the moment, I only have one midi going from my controller to the ti. Also, I don't have 2 L&R 1/4 inputs, so no stereo for me =(. Also with the vst plugin you get two outputs through usb that you can put fx and eq on etc, I would need 4 analog inputs to do that without the vst. =( and I just can't live without totall recall anymore.. S/pdif could be possible though. I have a few songs I was working on before updating that i'm not about to stop working on, so back to 1.09 for me it is.

I've gotten this in the middle of a song with the speakers up LOUD.. and this thing is twice as loud as anything in the song.. NOT cool.

On my vB I set clock source to external (my soundcard ASIO driver basically) and the virus slaves to that. It shouldnt hang notes if your soundcard is sending midi clock properly. I can see why it would hang notes if the clock source was the TI itself and there was a buggy OS.

Creative should have an ASIO driver? If not you could try ASIO4All but cubase doesnt have a native driver? It should always accept your soundcard's Multi out/ASIO driver.

For instance, FL Studio gives me a list of drivers - my Delta 1010 Multi Out, Delta 1010 ASIO and even my integrated on board soundcard - Realtek AC97 out. Wanna give ASIO4All a spin and see if you get any success?

Now thats just plain dangerous. Jeez if I were you I wouldnt monitor loud at all I value my ears too much these days to lose it or irrepairably damage it on a peice of defective gear. I know its traditional in hardware synths to basically beta test the OS on the public and spend several years ironing out all the bugs, but thats a bit much...

tell me about it man.. .scared the bajesus out of me. I almost fell off the seat. In my opinion though, access is the way to go. I would like to try a new synth maker though... ive got my eyes on a nordlead 2 rack.

My soundcard is sending midi clock properly, but vst and usb connection are screwy. Remember thats alot of stuff to go through a little usb cable, midi I/O, audio, etc. They just haven't gotten it right yet.

They do, it worked decently enough to get somewhere on tracks before, but now it's useless for me.

I hate the qbase asio driver but I might just try it.
