Many would call me a complete music snob, but I don't try and argue, I try to educate in a nice manner-

I'm not looking for an argument, I'm just saying that electro (not that electro house crap that was big a few years back) seems to be the new cool.

I for one don't like it. I'll stick to my techno and house thanks.

No, a lot of the electro clash that was being produced WAS a lot like "ELECTRO". Electro house isn't like that at all and I'd say what is called electo house's emergence has been big within the last year especially-

I'd like to hear some examples of what you mean by electro, electro house, and electro clash, so we can at least see if we are on the same page-

Ok, yeah, that's got some srs electroy vibes in there, but I think my point is that Electro isn't on its way to being the new fad, it hasn't gone away, but I don't think within the next 2 or 3 years it will come back with a vengance.

Try 1982 buddy.

There was a lot of shit clash and some proper electro that came out it. I doubt it will come back again so soon, most of it sounded like ass tbh, and it will never sound as good as it did in the 80s.

Plenty of New Electro sounds as good or better than it did in the 80's.

quote:

If anything I think/hope that anything electro goes out of style for a bit- give everyone a breather. Except Alden Tyrell, I like him.

Studies show that real Electro will never go out of style.

No it wasn't.

It made a huge jump in the amount of producers it had in 1995, and then by 2000-present it has as many or more producers than it ever had before 1995. I should hope it gets cool, Cuz it's the fuckin bombados. But in order to be cooler than it has ever been, someone is going to have to make a record that goes gold in the first month of its release, then the following year someone is going to have to make a record that gets played on MTV and wins a grammy.

I knew it was only a matter of time. Electro will always be huge for electro heads. There we go.

K whatever you win.

its that summery housey quasi latino piano prog stuff thats really hot at the moment. Really its a reinvention of the early to mid 1990s sound. Typified by tracks like Andy Cato's 'La Luna' and Hott 22's 'I feel love'.

Too complicated?

two words...

Desyn Masiello.

so i guess people are gonna start imitating Desyn now.

It has existed for nigh on 25-35 years now, depending on how you look at it. I'll tell you when they stop making it.

Personally, I think its going to go back to "house"- a much simpler, more classic style of house.

Yeah, Jon Lisle has definitely made that move after progressive breaks died out

I dread the day when people will assume that because I spun an hour set of minimal and it was played on the radio that I only play minimal.

Sasha is not "moving towards minimal" he just felt like playing some locodice at the beggining of a 4 hour set.

Hes played Argy - Love Dose (Luciano Mix) before and other stuff here and there. I dont see anything wrong with a DJ having broad taste...

there is nothing wrong with it... sasha circa 1999-2002 compared to now i would that his "track selection" has a minimal bias
