Sure Sandra toured the club and passed the said laws but come on...do you really think that she wouldn't have toured any other club if Underground was not around.

I was only making a comment on the fun and good times myself and many others had there. Not once did I mention the quality of the parties or compare them to Syrous and Better days. Stop taking things to the extreme and take my post for what it was - a comment on the good times had there and the appreciation for the new club in Windsor that are bringing great music and DJ's to a great venue.

Sorry im just bitter about that place. Why? Because it was a crappy basement of a crappy bar that people called a rave. Pupatello went there in late 1999 and saw for herself what a dump it was and equated that experience as a "rave" experience and hence she went mental on the whole rave scene. She had the rave act passed and she was the one who first contacted chief fantino and lastman about the raves in toronto. So yes she was the one who started it and it was all based on her trip to underground.

For torontonians here is an example. Imagine a politician made a trip to comfort zone and then equated what he saw as what goes on in all nightclubs and therefor had every nightclub in Ontario shut down. Thats precisely what happened here.

BTW she wouldnt have gotten into Platinum because i dont think the owners of that place would have been that stupid.

I agree with your statement of the club owners at Platinum being smarter - they were good guys who created one of the best places to party.
As for Sandra, I think she had it out for the owner of Underground personally - he in turn thought he was higher than her and let her into the club thinking nothing would come of it. And now here we are today - just my two cents...
It may do Sandra a little good to visit the zone - I'm sure once she heard Dekoze's sick beats she would change her mind

That is the funniest thing ever - because it is so incredibly true. Whenever I go home I laugh at the ads on the bus stops - who would have ever thought??!!

why? downtown toronto is just a hop and a skip away.

pretty much. no other city aroudn Toronto will ever be that good really since Toronto is so close and already booming. Id rather keep as much of that stuff out of sauga anyways.

It looks like the B M B M room is getting some good DJs in but it seems like its always during the week and they leave the weekend for the top 40 culture. I checked out the website and it seems it is just another come and be seen type club with table service and all that other crap I can't stand.

table service etc helps keep the prices down when the big djs come into town.

Otherwise instead of $30 to hear deep dish in a 900 capacity club youd be paying $50.

Boom boom room on saturdays is another come and be seen club, however there is an upstairs that plays house music with some pretty decent local dj's, which is better than can be said of most windsor places.

However keeping with the wonderful names that exist inside that club the upstairs is called...
...you guessed it "skybar".

They even use the same style lettering as guv's skybar.

Whoever is naming these places gets the award for shitball namer of the year.

Wow i didnt even know about this thread... Well let me address the masses here about the club, myself and renaldo have been at this for years , dj's, promoters, etc etc.. I think its been 12 seasons here now. Both from Toronto, old enought to rember sundays at factory and rpm warehouse. Came to Windsor, worked really really hard, got to know everyone and treated people right thru all the years. Got a shot a doing a club, emptied all funds available and voila The BoomBoomRoom was born. When naming the club we had to come up with something that was windsor and was fun!! At first it was element, but that name is just too cool for Windsor. And anyone that has been in this market knows exactly what i mean. THIS IS NOT TORONTO NEVER WILL BE AND ITS JUST FINE THE WAY IT IS THANK YOU.

Anyways it was either the BBR or The Stanky Fish
I still prefer the Fish myself
The BBR Pays all the bills and does a great job at it, I must say that in 9 months we havent had any serious situations, fights or rowdyness that caused problems, and for a place this size thats quite a feat... knock on wood.

Other than the big dj's (your term not mine) our music is probably heads and above the best in the city (former dj's as owner = caring about music)

As far as the scene blowing up im not too sure about that, We seem to be the only ones doing anything.. other bars around here dont have the balls or creativity to try anything other than Gasp $1.00 drinks and Drinks at cost which is the norm around these parts. Its more of a Flea market mentality in Windsor. Rediclous if you ask me but whatever.
I like to think were in the entertainment biz first and the booze biz second.

We seem to find our way into the Windsor Star every week, yesterday there was an article in the paper about Mark oliver playing at the club this Thursday, there is so little going on here it has really given us a chance to finnaly push this kind of stuff to the forefront where even the Mayor of Windsor knows who mark oliver is. This is grat for the EDM scene in Windsor and really hepls to get rid of the whole Pupatello thing. Thats long gone now and its safe to say things are on the right track again.

The cool people argument crap doesent work with me either, is their a dress code.. absolutley... have you ever seen some of the scum in windsor? If you had a club out here im sure youde have one too. Ohh and the whole table reservation bottle service thing is free (other than the booze of course) we actually give a shit about customer service too.

Ide go on but im sick of typing , were not tryig to be like the guv, were not trying to revolutionize the music scene in southern ontario..... were just having fun.

and thats that.

The Skybar thing... yah ripoff not the same logo by the way, and i beleive the skybar in miami was the first one.

If your ever in the area come visit and drop me a line. [email protected]

Wish us and the EDM scene out here luck, it was abandond long ago (ask richie a la berlin pack my bags and take off but when i come home i only play in detroit hawtin.)

Wheres my shitball reward for name of the year, we have about 30 other god awfull ones ready too roll out!!!!!!

oh!one more thing just in case anyone's keeping score it's Agostino 1 and Pupatello 0 (that's for everyone who knows how my brother embarassed her with the whole dwarf tossing incident) and p.s we do have big events on saturday's too aka deep dish, bad boy bill, dean coleman etc.

Alright I take it back, no shitball namer award.

Nice response, as much as I don't like the name you are very right that windsor and toronto are very different places and regardless of what you may want you need to appeal to your market to stay alive.

Well done.

Posted by Jayx1 on Jun-14-2006 01:07:

i dont know about stanky fish... but windsor had a bar called electric fish LOL

Boom Boom room would never work in toronto but windsor is a bit hickish that way so yeah what remo said..

Just to clarify I think that when people said that the scene is "blowing up" they meant it in a good way. In that the EDM scene in Windsor has had many ups and downs...more downs it seems in the last few years. But with the success of the BBR opening and bringing in the DJs they have since they've opened it'll save a lot of us Windsorites going up to Toronto when we can get good entertainment here...and hopefully some of the Toronto folk will come down to check this place out as well.

It was meant in a good way - not in a bad way.

Espeically with 9/10 of the clubbers trying to look like Eminem, it's a refreshing chance.

And like Lisa said, it was ment in a good way. When Blast shut down for a bit I almost cried lol.

Posted by Jayx1 on Jun-14-2006 03:50:

all i can say is james zabiela in a club of 500 people for $10.

Where else in the world can you acheive that????

Posted by Dufouria on Jun-14-2006 04:24:

max graham may23rd in the skybar upstairs, which will be amazing

We don't even go out, what are you talking about!

However, this is in fact why I tend not to go out when I'm in town - which is not that often! Haha
