i sawem live @ monster massive and its a gore experience which i would like 2 keep buried.....they were absolutely horrible....IMO some djs shouldnt do live events....its a world of difference getting up and rockin the party with a 15-20k plus crowd that has completely shutdown their surrounding consequences and is completely concentrating on you......

deep dish is what i like 2 call 'studio-dj's'

studio dj = a single dj or in this case a duo which are designated to compile mindblwoing tracks with amazing effects and compiling sum of the greatest remixes and LP sets to hit the market. Hense selling records and gaining fame @ the celebrity status....making money and gaining fame is what drives studio djs......

personally, thats not what impresses me.....

but as a DJ, the true meaning of the word DJ i think PVD is absolutely complete and refined.....

as far as trance goes, i wouldnt want to get 2 deep in2 it, since its simply not my forte, but after seeing paul van dyke live i have eversince been in a state of ><......cant wait til september so i can catch him @ the vanguard.......

lol well i can't fairly speak on pvd seeing as i've missed his last four residencies up here because the shitty club that has him becomes a hellish meat can when pvd is in town...imagine 1000 sweaty cracked out bodies cramming into a room with a ~700 fire code. even though i hear pvd's sets in sf are legendary... no thanks to that kind of clubbing environment! besides i believe the last two pvd installments i missed were because i was at fundacion instead

either way, i can honestly say i've never heard trance so perfectly articulated and embodied than when i watched svd lay down a 4-hour set of psy, tech, techno, tribal, breaks, acid, electro, house-laced trance. i mean he combined everything you could combine with trance into a pounding set with great flow and perfect mixing. the main 3 trance djs who stand out as being able to CONSISTANTLY dish out that perfect mixing, perfect programming and pounding energy at that level... are the 3 i named. i really don't think it's possible to improve upon that line up

dammit i'm tired

i've always wanted to see christopher lawrence and j00f tag team since they are so similar yet still subtley distinctive. plus they're already best friends and have compiled on multiple bombs so the synergy is already there. i don't know if svd knows either of them personally but i guarantee you if you put them all in a room together they'll blow you away. i have a feeling they'd even blow themselves away. svd is perfect to set the bar way up there, lawrence always builds off the opener with some next level shit and j00f will undoubtedly deliver a punishing closing set. but the best part about it would be the tagteaming! dammit. i don't even wanna talk about it!

Christopher Lawrence has gone 75% psy. He was fucking awesome when I saw him at Spundae a few weeks back. I can't wait to see him and J00F together along with Infected Mushroom at EDC next week. That is my dream line up!!!!

Posted by dollaroff on Jun-15-2006 00:20:

Sad about Sander.

Anyway, EDC is the best venue for Trance this year...if you're into that.

G&D @ Coachella was probably one of the worst sets I've heard in a long time. I was on the fence with them before, and now I will never waste my time with them.
