Not the team but the media. The team thinks game by game.

So we did get 4 of these.

Knockout stage is looking very interesting, excellent lineup of games. The only "danger" is Australia beating Italy. Sorry aussies, i don't dislike your team, but that result would mean we get a mickey-mouse quarter final match.

I don't remember any world cup with so many powerhouses in the knockout stages - only Czech is out. Actually, Czech is a bit strange. They were considered a half-powerhouse before the cup, a huge candidate to win it all after the US game, and now after the elimination a "mickey mouse eastern european team".

France - Spain is gonna be insane. simply because theyre both huge teams. even though I find one of them to be highly over-rated.

If the favorites win their round of 16's as expected teh quarter finals are going to be orgasmic

Argentina - Germany
Brazil - Spain
England - Holland/Portugal (2 close to pik a favorite)

Only Italy vs Ukraine/Switzerland is a big team - small team game

My god what a next 2 weeks its gonna be.

i think ecuador is going to give england a run for their money and send them home. the other two matches you have listed are just amazing matchups.

I personally think Spain is going to win convincingly over France, but think what you want

dont jinx em, spain r known to be big game fuck ups. id like to see them reach the semis (knocking out brazil in the quarters along the way).

The Quali. Round's Spain is more like yesterday's one (Ral, Marchena, Salgado, Albelda...).

The Spain that will play against France is different: Villa, Torres, Xavi & Xabi, Luis Garca... (they can move the ball fast).

Posted by zoric on Jun-24-2006 09:50:

Marchena made one good thing in the whole qualifier, and that was the goal against Bosnia & Herzegovina in the 97th minute

i can't wait to see argentina and germany play. if anybody can upset the home team, it's argentina. we're gonna do the krauts the same way we did the italians back 1990. except germany will not get to play for 3rd place this time.

i don't know what to make of the spain and france match up...

both have good teams... spain has been playing pretty well, but the problem is that they are spanish. they are good for nothing, and they are chronic chokers/loosers.

for a team that has zizou, trez, and henry only france can figure out a way to leave the last WC w/out scoring a goal, and barely scrape by into the second round narrowly avoiding an encore of the 2002 WC. what a waste this team is. i think france has outdone the spanish. don't expect spain to take this lightly.

for me, this is gonna be a game of who will suck more, france, or spain... who knows, maybe they will surprise us by playing great, and put on a real show... this one is too close to call for me.

i want to see ecuador knock out england, but i don't think the ref's in this game/WC like black people... so england will have an edge in this one

i want portugal and holland to knock each other out... that's not gonna happen, so hopefully portugal will be standing after this match up.

when is the sleeping giant that is italy finally gonna wake up? hopefully it's in this game against australia... italy isn't going to go anywhere wasting the talent they have w/the way they have been playing.

i think the swiss are less of joke than the ukraine... so i think they are gonna send the ukraine home.

brazil and ghanna? i think it's ghanna's coach that's gonna suffer the most by eating his words. let's see how well chunk (ronaldo) plays...
