different arms

straight arms are known for scratching because they put more pressure on the record. this also can result in dmg to both the record and the cartride/stylus over a long period of time. the s-arm doens't put as much pressure onthe record, therefore has a better lifespan=less money on tt parts and that shiznit.

basically if you have lots of money, straight arms are ideal because there is virtually no skating or skipping, you just have to be ready to buy lots of records and maintenance shznit.

SHIBBY!

Look for a RM3S vs the RM3...
The differences are minor but worth going for the newer "S" model

a) Silver faceplate - matches a set of techs real well (hence the "S"ilver)
b) improved crossfader curve
c) addition of a cue fader - fade between PFL and PGM (which comes in handy for me!)

you can pick up the RM3S new off the net for about $230 USD... very affordable mixer for having so many features!!
