Its part of the stargate. You know how you spin the stargate around (like a combination lock) to link things up.

The most obvious part here is you rotate the constellations and the planets so that Mars is aligned with Aries.

ARIES = RAM
ARES = MARs

In essence you now have a symbolic bridge between the planets and the stars.
