Germany - England

lol

Ok, being serious now...

Germany - England.
We can do it, and we will.

Argentina vs Spain, but I don't know if Spain will make it to the finals...they have a good chance of winning against France, but then they have Brazil...

I'm hoping for the same final. I'd really love to see Brazil being elilinated from the tournament pretty quickly, not that I have someting against Brazil, but again a final and a WC victory from Brazil would make the World Cup pretty boring.

Spain's surely gonna have a difficult oponent with Brazil but I'm hoping they can make it through.

I actually think Spain is the team with more chances of knocking Brazil out..

Spain - England
Brazil - Italy
Argentina - Germany

A mistake on my part. Argentina will go home earlier, that's all.

Spain has a solid team. Not only will they beat France but they will also overcome Brazil's aging defense and sluggish offense, I think.

lol. look, even if those assumptions youre making were true, it doesnt matter if your team is shit. france suck even more than england.

i think a spain v argentina would be good if england dont make it.

ahhh I really do hope they win this because its gonna be a very satisfying victory

Posted by isoterra on Jun-26-2006 03:42:

france are terrible atm, spain should beat them pretty easily

Germany - England #1 choice with England winning on German soil for payback for the reverse in 1996.

If not, Argentina/England too.

England is going to 1 nill everyone to death just like Greece two years ago so watch out! Score one goal and then defend, defend, defend and pray to god!

England vs Germany would be awesome. A real classic!

And a final like Argentina vs Brazil won't happen, because we are in europe and since 1958 only european nations won the world cup here...

don't know why people are getting excited about england. i don't find their style of play particularly exciting as a spectator.

Argentina - now there's some flare.

agreed, england play very boring imo

i would like to see Argentina - Portugal in the final

and Germany - Brazil to the 3rd place

but either argentina or germany are gonna loose in the quarter finals so it wont be possible

potential for match of the tournament right there. gives us an idea of what an argentina - germany final would look like

Nothing against them before this tourney, but I'm just annoyed that Italy, playing as poorly as they have this year, are most likely making it into the 3rd place game without much work. I'd have much rather seen Australia, or hell, any of the others from their group (even the US or Czechs), get that far.

It's just amazing to see how far they're making it with a fairly easy schedule and swan dives. I'm sure the game against Ukraine won't be any different, and after their performance against the Swiss today, I'm pretty much writing them off. Either Germany or Argentina won't make it through the quarters, but both teams have far surpassed the Italians in this Cup, yet Italy stands a decent chance of taking 3rd.

I figure it'll be Brazil v. Germany for the final and Italy v. England for 3rd, though Argentina's going to give the Germans a good match in the quarters (^^^I agree, potential match of the tourney), and if they win intstead, it'll be them that beat Italy to make it to the finals.

flare isn't always required to win. England's goals have all been very nice though, especially Cole's and Beckham's. If they grind out 1 nill wins all the way to the final and win, who cares. Grumble all you want about a lack of "beautiful football".

Argentina - Spain

spain will win.

agreed. however as a spectator I want to see action.

i understand that in England's case it's a necessary tactic, not arguing against that. Just not exciting to watch.

To me the world cup is an opportunity for the stars to shine, showcase their talent on the world stage. in the highlight reels they replay the fantastic shots/moments, not the whole 90 mins of a team defending after they score one goal in order to win.

it's the seemingly unbelievable acts, upsets and drama that makes the game exciting to watch.

i'm more likely to remember the last ten minutes of the australia vs japan match or Mr Poll's 3 yellow cards in 10 years times rather than the not so rivoting play of England.

anyways, Germany vs Argentina... i can't wait!

Australia is out.
Korea is out.
All African teams are out.
Netherlands is out.

"Ukraine vs. Portugal" is my last hope.
