either way you can't go wrong with that team

Thor Hushovd wins the prologue
He beat Hincapie by 0.73 second!
Zabriskie finished 3rd
Landis would've been in the top 3 if he didn't start late

Posted by Aendy on Jul-02-2006 00:05:

Go Norway!!!

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-02-2006 15:38:

Stage 1
Hincapie takes the malliot jaune!
Unfortunately, Hushovd got bloodied by something near the finish line while wearing the malliot jaune. Let's hope he can still continue.

Posted by Aendy on Jul-02-2006 20:51:

Look at Hushovds right arm, guess the adrenaline was pumping quite a bit...

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-03-2006 18:21:

Stage 2
Hushovd seems to be ok, as he regained the yellow jersey

Posted by K.I.K.E. on Jul-04-2006 07:38:

Interesting stage today: pure Ardennes.

Posted by K.I.K.E. on Jul-04-2006 19:56:

Valverde crashed, and broke his collarbone .

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-07-2006 17:18:

Robbie McEwen wins his 3rd stage of the Tour in Stage 6

Time trial coming up tomorrow, which should make a big change in the GC

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-08-2006 13:55:

Bad crash in the time trial for Bobby Julich
Much like what happened to him in the 1999 TDF

Posted by CranberryJuice on Jul-08-2006 15:53:

so sad for bobby indeed ...i like this guy and i hoped this year he would have more opportunities

i hope his hand isn't broken

honchar owned everyone !he deserved because it's his field !
i mean GC

but robbie is still in green so

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-09-2006 05:12:

Quite a win by Honchar in the TT to give him the yellow jersey
Next closest is Landis, exactly 1 minute behind.

For the first time in a long time, Discovery is in a less than desirable position.

Outstanding performance indeed. With the margin gained, the top 10 for him his easy, since he made it several times in the Giro. Brilliant, the entire T-Mobile team.

Small differences between the favourites: only the pure climbers (Mayo, Simoni, Cunego?) and Leipheimer lost a lot of time, and should be very offensive in the next Pyrenaic stages (since Wednesday).

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-10-2006 17:59:

Landis will have hip replacement surgery after the Tour
Must be quite painful to do the race with such a condition

Posted by K.I.K.E. on Jul-12-2006 07:16:

Power victory for Freire, 2nd for him this TdF, and only with 1 teammate helping again...

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-12-2006 17:08:

something for the French to be happy about - Cyril Dessel grabs the malliot jaune (and the polka dot climber's jersey) after the first mountain stage, with a 2:34 lead

It would be funny to see Mercado doing a Walkowiak.

Stage 11 - Landis in yellow!

Americans own the Tour De France.

Posted by The_G0dfather on Jul-13-2006 22:38:

Very weird Tour so far, before today absolutely no one knew who was actually favorite to win the Tour let alone who was going to win it. Not even after today, dont think Landis will be able to keep his jersey all the way. It's still a long way, and he aint nothing like Lance.

This Tour certainly be the greatest of all time since like almost all of the favorites had to leave, but it certainly allready is the most exciting one of the past 7 years.

Looking forward for more cols

I hope to see some serious attacks in les Alpes, not what we saw the last 2 days.

Posted by partyhopper on Jul-14-2006 16:43:

Popovych gets a win for Discovery in Stage 12
too bad Salvodelli has dropped out, as a result of being hit on the head by a spectator yesterday

Posted by K.I.K.E. on Jul-15-2006 08:14:

Rabobank ordered Freire to let Popovych win, so Discovery will help Rabo team in les Alpes. Making friends in the peloton.

Posted by CranberryJuice on Jul-16-2006 13:27:

yes i expect some actions in les alpes !but btw it's shame this year the stars of the peloton are gone ....but well they were cheating !
