I just got my iPod, and I am putting all my U2 albums into Itunes.

Does anyone know what it converts the songs to? mp3? If so at what bitrate?

Found out. Mp3, 128kbps. Can iTunes convert the CD to .wav?

Posted by Floorfiller on Jun-25-2006 23:06:

let's not talk about shareware progs on here...

and really with a name like shareaza what were you expecting?

and itunes uses AAC files.

quote:
Import in An Instant

To import songs into iTunes, just insert a CD into your computer and click Import CD. Or set up iTunes to automatically add music when you insert a CD. Either way, iTunes imports music in a snap. iTunes saves music from your CDs as high-quality AAC files a format that builds upon state-of-the-art audio technology from Dolby Labs. But you can choose different audio formats, too. iTunes lets you convert music to MP3s at high bit-rate at no extra charge. Using AAC or MP3, you can store more than 100 songs in the same amount of space as a single CD. iTunes also supports the Apple Lossless format, which gives you CD-quality audio in about half the storage space.

*BREAK*!!!!

Anyway, it is only law in some countries, so before you start coming down on people for "breaking" the law, you should consider that just because your country chooses to push their B.S. on you, doesn't mean that everyone else's does too.

I quote myself from a different thread:
____________________________________________________________________

I think people would be and are much more willing to spend money on an album if the album is providing the quality that the consumer deserves.

I think that file sharing is a way for people to test out if they like an artists music, and when they decide, they can make an effort to collect and support their work.

Sure this isn't always the case, however there ARE still people supporting their favourite artists.

Maybe if these greedy-ass record companies weren't quickly throwing shit onto CD's half the time to mass produce and sell them for as much money as they can, leaving the buyer's disappointed with where their hard earned money went, people wouldn't be so inclined to "steal" the songs first.

There have been many times where I bought a CD, and the one song I knew I liked was on it, and the rest were garbage. I wasted $25 on a coaster!

Record companies need to start selling QUALITY work, stuff people will enjoy, or the people wont want to buy it.

I have discovered more artists through Kazaa, DC++, Emule etc. then I ever would. I do not watch TV at all, and I rarely listen to the radio. If it hadn't been for file sharing, I wouldn't be the TranceAddict I am today.

I think that file sharing is making music better for the consumers, and that, in my opinion, is what is most important. Finally, people are getting the music they want, and not the shit that they feed us.

I think the floodgates opened when you posted about your love restraints in the donation thread

But it may have started when you talked about having sex on your period....

My ex and I had no problems. We had a towel we'd use to catch any of the staining material, and go to town.

Theresa am sorry you think am coming down on people, but am not, am just satying most people use the program use it to brack the law, am not saying i agree with the record companys becouse i dont, i think most music is over priced and is poor. thats why i download live sets ranging from all types of music.

I just think its funny that they is a good chance that this guy is useing the program to download illigaly, and when its mess up his comp he complains.

Its like when a robber bracks into someones house and falls down thes stairs and trys the sue the house owner.

I'm joking, there is a thread around here somewhere about it.

It's not that hard, really. Well, basics at least. But that's sufficient for finding what you need.

the only people getting robbed are the consumers for shelling out 25 bucks to a record company for an album that has one decent song on it, sometimes, no decent songs........

when the industry starts doing a bit of quality control, ill buy music..... as for right now, for EDM i buy vinyl.... and lots of it, so i support the good artists, for anyting else, fuck em......
