The track is actually Psycraft - Feel the vibe, the acapella is part of the track. It isn't a bootleg or a mash up, it is actually a release by Psycraft.

I got inside around 9:30 pm.......It was my first time there, heard many opinions about EDC and so I wanted to check it out. I went up in a caravan and it was my little sisters' first time at a rave so she had a blast. I was not feeling EDC at first, I thought, "brings me back to the old skool days when vibrating devices, vicks inhalers, and pacifiers were in full effect. Now adays I just want to be in my own area dancing, don't want to be bothered.
I met up with DJ faded aka Mike Lord aka bonehead aka (insert your personal name for him here) and Rob Stern in the citrus room when Infected Mushroom was playing. It was RIDICULOUS how hot it was in there, or just in general, we were like, "F*&^ this!" and left.
We went cruising around for a bit, headed over to the dome where Bassnectar was dropping some beats so we danced around and it was alot cooler in there and more room to bounce around. Then we went back to cruising around, met up with my peeps and some of his peeps, kept going in and out of the citrus room, then G&D came on. I was back with my peeps and G&D after Infected Mushroom was alittle awkward transition but whatever......went back into the dome to see Adam Freeland play and that was fun!!! Ran into Carrie and bounced around with her for a bit, went on the ride together. The ride looks so innocent and joyful, but it's whiplash every 7 seconds for 2 minutes. Carrie and I had fun though.
After that, I made my way back to citrus room when Ferry came on, after CL. I managed to catch maybe 10 mins of CL's set, so I can't really have an opinion on him, though I'm sure he tore it up. When Ferry got behind the decks, right away, the trance session really began.....it was good, kept us on our feet for sometime. I manage to steal my friends' hat and bust out with my own poplocking robot 20 minute groovin' world. I like shutting off and flowing with the beats. By 3:30, we were pretty much over it because the heat was unbarable by then, sweat, humidity, packed, puddle cuddles on the dance floor.....so we split.
My personal overall experience of EDC is I did have fun, it was an experience. Would I recommend it to people.............eh...............I like to go to a music festival and enjoy the vibe. EDC seemed like alot of little kids going to get completely off their rocker where they aren't coherent. Granted, I was on a good one too, but I definitely noticed my "ravin" days have changed as I got older. I just like dancing to the music, meeting up with peeps I know, and have space to dance.
It was fun though, nothing like Global Gathering or Trance Energy.........this 4am party's over deal doesn't work too well in my books. Ah well though, just gotta enjoy yourself in some form of fashion.
I like to give a shout out to couple TA's I saw, Rob Stern, Carrie, and Mike Li-zord!!! That drink was potant btw!!! I know there was a large amount of TA's there and more people I know, sorry I didn't see you, but there's always another time!!!!!!!!

EDC 2006 A Review:
EDC 2006 starts off with Kris, Sarah and I getting our outfits ready. Kris was a lovely flower, Sarah was a lady bug and I was the bee. Events are so much more fun in costume. Julie arrives a little after 5:30 and we are off to NOS.
Getting into the parking lot took some time since there was a Monster Truck show next door. We got a spot headed to get our tickets and went into the event. The �search� was by far the easiest search I went threw. Just lift the bra a little and open my purse for a quick second and we where in. Woot woot!
Once in we walked around to get a feel for the place and people. Back in my �rave� days people would attend in bright colors. But I guess things have changed since people where dressed in really dark emo clothing. The age of the event seems to be getting younger and younger and it really disturbed me that jr high girls where walking around in nothing but their underwear 
We decided to go get a drink at one of the bars outside. We go to the �beer Garden� and there where no cups. After waiting a good 10 Minutes cups finally come but there are no mixers and they haven�t even taped the kegs yet. So we grab a shot and head over to the hotdog stand and they had no soda. How can there be a massive of over 10,000 and not one place have soda! It seemed that the �food� stands had no organization what so ever.
As I was pouring the lemonade in to our shots JOOF walks up. Totlay random but very cool. We talk to him again for a bit and grab a picture. He has to go in to the main stage and we chill for a little while longer. People and even a cop wanted to take our pictures. 
It was close to 7 and we all decided to head to the main area to see JOOF. We get the perfect spot for his set. JOOF takes over the decks and more TA�s join us in the front row. Kris and I go grab a very expensive and very strong AMF� and head back to our spot. JOOF played yet another awesome dance your ass off Set. I could tell that he was feeing off all the energy from the front row. The room gets more packed but there is plenty of room to dance. During his set I finish my AMF and I was that A Faded. But non the less I danced my ass off. The room is so hot and Sarah and I where totally sweaty. They really need to have some big fans in the front and sides since the AC doesn�t cut it when the room full and the temp outside was in the 3 digits. The guy who was �hosting� John came down to us and told us that John set was going to be 2 hrs long since Sandra Collins was late. WOOO HOOOO! All though he had an early time slot it worked out to his benefit. He got the longest set of the night.
I really do not remember when Sandra got on stage with her odd set up. What was up with all the computer monitors and the guy that was with her. Once she got on the energy of the room completely died. Her first track was so slow and boring and her 3rd track in the music just stops. She looked completely wasted all ready and tried to blame it on her set up. I am pretty sure she hit stop on the CDJ! Her set was so awful that Sarah and I took the opportunity to explore and check out the house area. On the way there I all most fell and tripped on the crackies sitting on the Grass and or holes in the ground. Walking in the Grass in go-go boots is a hard task to do.
Mark Ferina was on and I was board to Tears so Sarah and I go the VIP area to get some water and a cocktail. We could not go out side with it so we had to chug it before going back to the main area to see infected mushroom. By this time the room was uber packed to the point of being unsafe. It was hard to even move. Sarah and I managed to walk our way close to the front. The only dancing I could do was when I was getting pushed and shoved by everyone. The crowd was nuts. And it was now all most 2 hot to handle. I could not take it and almost got to the point where I wanted to leave the area and go some place else. But I stuck with it since we finally got front and center and I did not want to loose are spot. Infected Mushroom was amazing! So much energy. I love that �live� stuff. After their last song the crowd wanted 1 more and they got it. The person running the stage was not impressed and got upset since this one more song pushed the time-slots even more back. After their set G&D took over.
Again the energy of the room left when Infected Mushroom left. Once G&D started everyone stopped dancing. G&D set had no flow or direction. They where flat out dull and boring. Zzzzzz. It was torcher. But if you thought this set was bad you should have seen their set at Cochella. Now that was really bad. During there set I got thirsty and so did Sarah. With all the dancing and heat it was time to get re-hydrated. In fear of losing our spot� I got John�s attention and asked him for water. He understood my sign language and got me 2 waters. He singled for me to go to the side. But I could not move. After a little bit of waiting he came back on stage and I singled to him I could not move. But decided forget this whole not having water for the rest of the night thing.. So I tell John to meet me on the side and brave my way threw the craziness. I all most tiped and feel on a couple e-puddles. But I got the water. I was so thankful that JOOF did that for us. Super Duper nice. After a quick chat I head back over to Sarah with the water and G&D where still going no where. All of a sudden a friend of mine walks by and hands me a wrist band. Sarah and I plot out a plan and I head back stage. I go over to talk to John and ask him for a huge favor he hand me a wrist band and I head out to get Sarah back stage with me. Ahhh now we can move and it was a lot cooler back there. When I was back there G&D droped the dreaded must die SOS track. But to be honest that was the only time I saw the crowd go nutzo during their set�
When I am back there a group that I met in Miami where there. They where so happy to see me and gave me a huge hug. They told me that this is the 12th show they have seen of Ferry. They rented a RV and Traveled the country to see Ferry. Talk about dedication!! After I talked to them I go mingle with my other friends. At this time I wanted to take my ear plugs out since I really did not need them any more. I got the left one out just fine but the right one was so weged in that it was stuck. I tried my best to get it out and even try using a straw. Not very smart. So My friend walks me over to first aid so I can get the EMT guy to get it out. Note to self do not make one ear plug into 2. After the ear plug was out and the pressure released it was time to go back to the main area. Ferry was finally there. And I got all silly and gitty. It has been since WMC that I have seen him so it was really good seeing him again. I went over to say hello and talked to him for a bit. I take out the L.E.F Insert and get him to sign the inside of it for me. He was amazed that I had the CD all ready!
He left the area so I danced away to C. Lawerance�s set. It was obvious that he was in his �home� tuff. And threw down an amazing set! The crowd got his energy back up. During his set Kris Joined us back stage and we all talked and laughed with Ferry some more.
Ferry takes over the decks and this was the moment I have been waiting for all night Ferry is not afraid to push the boundaries and try new things. His set was AMAZING!! I just got a huge smile on my face. And the crowd was eating him up. 10-15mins in his set they let people up to the stage so I go up there and dance too the side. I see Kris and Sarah and my other friends in the front and decided to go join them. At this time I wip out my hearts and hand them out and we all hold them up. Seeing the look on Ferry�s face was priceless as always and he looked like he was having the time of his life up there. And made his hand heart back to the crowd. Kris and Sarah want to hear �punk� so I go back up to the stage with a heart and request it. Ferry was being a dork and said no. So I take a piece of the heart and write on it.. pretty please with Suger on top. He still tells me no. so for the rest of the night I stay on the stage dancing away. And his last track was �punk� woot woot. Hehe :P

After his set people wanted one more but it was 4am and the security people really wanted to go home. Ferry Stays for a bit and takes time for his fans. Kris, Sarah, Julie and I stay back to avoid the mob and figuring he would come back to say goodbye. When he was done security made a human fence and told us to leave. I was not content with that so I moved real slow and told them all I wanted to do was say good bye to Ferry. So they said it for me. Ferry told someone that it was ok for us girls to stay and he came down to talk with us. I can not wait to see Ferry again!!!
I had such an amazing EDC experience by far the best one yet. When the Music take over and you are with your friends you kinda forget the bad aspects of massives and that is what happened this weekend.
A special thank you goes out to Kris, Sarha, Julie, Ernisto and the other TA�s for making this such an amazing weekend!! I am still on my little happy cloud

Traffic was so wh0rish! I didn't get in until mid Gabriel and Dresden. Then Christopher Lawrence came on, so I immediately left the room and fell asleep on the lawn with a bunch of people getting free lightshows. Then I woke up, and made it to Ferry's last 30 minutes and then went home. What a night. Well anyway, when I was stuck on E. Street trying to find parking, I heard some DJ play "Trans Am - Cold War (War Is Stupid Mix)." Does anyone have any idea who played this song that night? Just curious.

I have had this on my mind since seeing G&D at EDC...what exactly do they do on Ableton that is so special??? I don't remember hearing anything special being done with Ableton...unlike James Zabiela whom I've seen tear it up with it in the past. Why do G&D use Ableton when they hardly use it to its potential? As a huge fan of theirs, I think its a scam to see them clickin away on the laptop. Drag and drop. Doesn't ableton beatmatch for you? Grrr. I wish peeps still used vinyl sometimes. You can truly appreciate a set when it is flawlessly mixed with vinyl. Skillz.
still on a high from friday nights set from jOOf and having had no sleep from the night before i was pretty sleep retarded but so excited about attending my first EDC. kris, michelle and i begin the transformation into our themed costumes and julie comes to get us.
we get to the parking lot and see a bunch of families and i'm like WTF? these people better not be bringing their kids to a massive but we see that there is a monster truck show next door. pretty funny to have the two crowds mingling together: rednecks and ravers.
so i get in the vip line to do the whole search thing and i get behind these totally drunk "frat" boys who obviously have never been to a rave before b/c in their backpack that was being disected by security was all their weed and pipes and etc. hello, not even hidden or anything! i'm melting behind them b/c this has now backed up the line and i'm like, please search me and let me go, see no drugs in purse, small outfit with no pockets, see i'm safe
so anyways, we make our way to get drinks and this becomes a great waiting game b/c there are no cups, then no mixers. i find a hot dog/lemonade stand and grab water and the girls join me and all of a sudden i turn around and there's john and he sees us and starts laughing b/c i told him we would be dressing up for this massive and he was like the outfits look great. we talk to him for a bit and i'm like don't you have to spin in like 15 minutes and he's like oh yeah, right, i better go. and of course i'm like okay ladies we have to head to the main room to get our spots front and center so we all head over.
of course we get to our spot, the official TA spot, down front and see quite a few other ta's and more join as john's set goes on. the place started getting crowded but there was enough room to dance and dance we did!!!!!! you can't help but dance to john's set. i was totally vibing off the tracks and the people around me. you know, having an early set time like that was perfect for me b/c most of the people in there were there early b/c of john, they wanted to dance to his set, no one was seriously cracked out yet so no difficulties there and i could move around and dance as crazy as i wanted with all my friends. it was perfect and i'm glad he went on early. when we saw the line up we were like WTF? and i even told john before he started how f-ed up the line up was but then when the night was all said and done i think it worked out perfect.
*side note on the line up: jOOf's set hard core in your face non stop dancing!!!!!!! sandra collins set no grooving boring time to walk around and dry off and catch breath, IM's set hard core dancing in your face crazy ass set, G& D's set no direction, nothing danceable time to walk around dry off and then fight way back up front for spot for lawrence and ferry. then lawrence and ferry dance your ass off till the end. so you see if we would have had say bamaca, collins, G & D, ferry, lawrence, IM, jOOf or something like that, there would be many people dead due to exhaustion and heat. so we needed those moments where we could take a break! just my opinion.
okay back to john's set! so we get word that sandra is late, hmmmm, but we are like fuck yeah, 2 hours of john, yay!!!!! john is totally vibing off the crowd and we are just getting crazier and crazier. more TA's and friends show up and i don't think i could be happier! i was having a blast, the tracks we so great, i recognized several from the night before and then towards the end bam!!!!! fire and then a little later on, on the ground and i'm going crazy! eric comes up behind me and is screaming on the ground on the ground and i'm going crazy. john's up there laughing his ass off and dancing and singing right along with us. btw, he told me later that he absolutely loved the vibe we brought and he had a blast.
so then sandra comes on stage with all her stuff and makes no sign of even trying to be polite and stands directly in john's way. we are like move bitch. i even crane my neck around to the side right as john is doing the same thing and we were like move and making hand motions like move out of the way lady. john is an absolute professional and is the most positive person i've ever met so he wasn't going to be a dick but it was getting ridiculous and so the last track he just unleashed and it was like, okay sandra you wanna be like that, mix into this you diva!!!!! she turned around and looked at him like wtf? and john just smiled and gave the thumbs up! so fucking perfect! anyways, what comes around goes around, she killed the vibe when she got on, many people left and then she stops the music all together! so great. that's cool i need a breather and i literally could wring sweat out of my dress.
so i'm already spent and so happy so whatever else was going on for the night was just icing on the cake. we make our way back for IM's set and i have never seen them but have heard so many great things about them. i think that the most packed that main room ever got was during IM's set. they were great but i want to see them in a proper club without the unsafe conditions in that room. it was absolutely over capacity and if, God forbid, there was a fire, many people would have been trapped. anyways, we make our way towards the front and center and it is wall to wall people and no dancing could be done. then the world's biggest raver and i mean close to 250 lbs begins to lean on me and i'm like hi, yeah, you okay, you're kinda knocking me down, and he's like oh sorry they keep pushing me. and i understand, that's a rave and crowded at that but then i begin to notice that he has room on his side and he starts leaning on me even more and i'm finally like dude, come on and he's like but their pushing me and i'm finally like push them back. i know very un-raver of me but the dude was gonna squash me. i also started feeling trapped and got kinda freaked out but then G & D came on and the crowd disappeared.
i like G & D but you can't go from IM to them, just doesn't work and they weren't bringing it on at all, not like i saw back in november. so michelle's friend walks by and gives her a wrist band and back stage she goes and asks john to get me back stage as well. and so back we go. and i was so thankful b/c you could breath and i could dance once lawrence got on. i got to spend quite a bit of time talking with john and he is just the nicest person ever. like i said earlier, he is so positive and the only thing he really said about the whole sandra thing was hey, there is a lot of politics in where djs get put in the time slots and so forth but he was like hey i got to spin for 2 hours, longest set of the night, and it ended up being a prime time slot so he said it all was great in the end and then he could hang out with people and enjoy the rest of his evening. john did this remix of ferry's rock your body rock, which is one of my favorite ferry tracks, and john dropped it during his set so when we went over to say hi to ferry i said jokingly, you don't have to drop rock your body rock since john already did tonight and he was like fine, i wasn't going to anyways! so funny.
i haven't seen lawrence spin in a while and i really dug his set. nice and dark and i danced alot to his set. i joked with john about how glad i was that he had rubbed off on lawrence and he was beginning to sound like john. and he was like, oh you have to say that to him. and of course i did after his set. he laughed really hard about that. but seriously, his set was proper and probably my favorite set of his by far!
and when i don't think i can dance anymore, ferry unleashes and i danced until the end. michelle was going crazy and it was so great that we both got to dance to our favorite djs sets together that night. you couldn't wipe the perma-smiles off of either of our faces. i loved the night, with all it's craziness and dancing and music and friends. but the best part for me was getting to hang out with john. i'm not delusional, i don't pretend to think he is my friend or whatever, but i am a huge fan and this fan got to spend time talking about music and everything else with her favorite dj!!!!!!! and i told him that, look you don't know how much what you guys do does for us, it inspires us, moves us, makes us smile and we just love it and here he is talking to me and i am just honored! he was like so humbled and thankful that we, the fans, dig what he does. and ferry and lawrence were the same way, they have to be 3 of the nicest guys and so humble and unbelievably talented. i mean i watched ferry's face light up when he saw michelle! they really do appreciate their fans and that's why they do it. they feed off of us just as much as we feed off of them. and when a dj stops doing that then that is a dj i no longer want to see!
so yes, i will stop now since i wrote a novel but this doesn't even scratch the surface of what i experienced this weekend. best weekend hands down musically with last weekend being the second. now i'm taking a break and i will see you all at giant villege! i had a blast with michelle, kris and julie and everyone else that i saw! thanks again michelle for the wonderful memories and kris, i'm so glad i got to see a different side of you, you rock girl!

and i even told john before he started how f-ed up the line up was but then when the night was all said and done i think it worked out perfect. *side note on the line up: jOOf's set hard core in your face non stop dancing!!!!!!! sandra collins set no grooving boring time to walk around and dry off and catch breath, IM's set hard core dancing in your face crazy ass set, G& D's set no direction, nothing danceable time to walk around dry off and then fight way back up front for spot for lawrence and ferry. then lawrence and ferry dance your ass off till the end. so you see if we would have had say bamaca, collins, G & D, ferry, lawrence, IM, jOOf or something like that, there would be many people dead due to exhaustion and heat. so we needed those moments where we could take a break! just my opinion. okay back to john's set! so we get word that sandra is late, hmmmm, but we are like fuck yeah, 2 hours of john, yay!!!!! john is totally vibing off the crowd and we are just getting crazier and crazier. more TA's and friends show up and i don't think i could be happier! i was having a blast, the tracks we so great, i recognized several from the night before and then towards the end bam!!!!! fire and then a little later on, on the ground and i'm going crazy! eric comes up behind me and is screaming on the ground on the ground and i'm going crazy. john's up there laughing his ass off and dancing and singing right along with us. btw, he told me later that he absolutely loved the vibe we brought and he had a blast. so then sandra comes on stage with all her stuff and makes no sign of even trying to be polite and stands directly in john's way. we are like move bitch. i even crane my neck around to the side right as john is doing the same thing and we were like move and making hand motions like move out of the way lady. john is an absolute professional and is the most positive person i've ever met so he wasn't going to be a dick but it was getting ridiculous and so the last track he just unleashed and it was like, okay sandra you wanna be like that, mix into this you diva!!!!! she turned around and looked at him like wtf? and john just smiled and gave the thumbs up! so fucking perfect! anyways, what comes around goes around, she killed the vibe when she got on, many people left and then she stops the music all together! so great. that's cool i need a breather and i literally could wring sweat out of my dress. so i'm already spent and so happy so whatever else was going on for the night was just icing on the cake. we make our way back for IM's set and i have never seen them but have heard so many great things about them. i think that the most packed that main room ever got was during IM's set. they were great but i want to see them in a proper club without the unsafe conditions in that room. it was absolutely over capacity and if, God forbid, there was a fire, many people would have been trapped. anyways, we make our way towards the front and center and it is wall to wall people and no dancing could be done. then the world's biggest raver and i mean close to 250 lbs begins to lean on me and i'm like hi, yeah, you okay, you're kinda knocking me down, and he's like oh sorry they keep pushing me. and i understand, that's a rave and crowded at that but then i begin to notice that he has room on his side and he starts leaning on me even more and i'm finally like dude, come on and he's like but their pushing me and i'm finally like push them back. i know very un-raver of me but the dude was gonna squash me. i also started feeling trapped and got kinda freaked out but then G & D came on and the crowd disappeared. i like G & D but you can't go from IM to them, just doesn't work and they weren't bringing it on at all, not like i saw back in november. so michelle's friend walks by and gives her a wrist band and back stage she goes and asks john to get me back stage as well. and so back we go. and i was so thankful b/c you could breath and i could dance once lawrence got on. i got to spend quite a bit of time talking with john and he is just the nicest person ever. like i said earlier, he is so positive and the only thing he really said about the whole sandra thing was hey, there is a lot of politics in where djs get put in the time slots and so forth but he was like hey i got to spin for 2 hours, longest set of the night, and it ended up being a prime time slot so he said it all was great in the end and then he could hang out with people and enjoy the rest of his evening. john did this remix of ferry's rock your body rock, which is one of my favorite ferry tracks, and john dropped it during his set so when we went over to say hi to ferry i said jokingly, you don't have to drop rock your body rock since john already did tonight and he was like fine, i wasn't going to anyways! so funny. i haven't seen lawrence spin in a while and i really dug his set. nice and dark and i danced alot to his set. i joked with john about how glad i was that he had rubbed off on lawrence and he was beginning to sound like john. and he was like, oh you have to say that to him. and of course i did after his set. he laughed really hard about that. but seriously, his set was proper and probably my favorite set of his by far! and when i don't think i can dance anymore, ferry unleashes and i danced until the end. michelle was going crazy and it was so great that we both got to dance to our favorite djs sets together that night. you couldn't wipe the perma-smiles off of either of our faces. i loved the night, with all it's craziness and dancing and music and friends. but the best part for me was getting to hang out with john. i'm not delusional, i don't pretend to think he is my friend or whatever, but i am a huge fan and this fan got to spend time talking about music and everything else with her favorite dj!!!!!!! and i told him that, look you don't know how much what you guys do does for us, it inspires us, moves us, makes us smile and we just love it and here he is talking to me and i am just honored! he was like so humbled and thankful that we, the fans, dig what he does. and ferry and lawrence were the same way, they have to be 3 of the nicest guys and so humble and unbelievably talented. i mean i watched ferry's face light up when he saw michelle! they really do appreciate their fans and that's why they do it. they feed off of us just as much as we feed off of them. and when a dj stops doing that then that is a dj i no longer want to see! so yes, i will stop now since i wrote a novel but this doesn't even scratch the surface of what i experienced this weekend. best weekend hands down musically with last weekend being the second. now i'm taking a break and i will see you all at giant villege! i had a blast with michelle, kris and julie and everyone else that i saw! thanks again michelle for the wonderful memories and kris, i'm so glad i got to see a different side of you, you rock girl! |
