does that mean we can make any style?

in theory yes, however if you submit a minimal-bhangra-meets-1950's swing track i highly suspect that it would be released on the label.
basically if you think its something that suits the label go for it.

all the best,

Jesus if you would take the time to read the text that comes with the pack you wouldnt have to waste posts asking about midis.

Thumbs down

The lack of a MIDI file is alright assuming you've got quality samples to work with. Just chopping up the song and labeling the clips as components is pretty dodgy in my book. I hope nobody plans on using the "Growl" clip sans hi-hats and other ambience... Do we really need Tilt (or whoever works for them) to do that for us? Why don't I just hack up "The World Doesn't Know" and remix that? I'm not usually one to bitch and moan but I mean if you're going to have a remix competition, why not do it properly? Okay I'll get off my soapbox now...

*Cue condescending remark from Mr. Mystery*

so true with your words....just cos its tilt everybody thinks its ok to work with crappy files and give it a go...

good luck to the person who ever wins it.

Tilt claims they want a new sound. How can they get a new sound using really old samples?
The lack of MIDI and samples really makes it challanging, and that's whats get an artist going.
I'm gonna experiment and find some new sound. Make some cool new FX. Program some cool ethnic drum patterns and just have fun with it.

If you can't make a remix without MIDI (come on... how hard is it to replicate a melody?) or samples, you're either lazy, uninspired or a bad artist in my humble opinion. Anyone got another reason why one shouldn't remix just because of the lack of resources?
