i know it's cliche but i like Acqua di Gio for going out
other than that Black Code is pretty good.
Chanel Allure Sport for daytime wear.

I like stuff with tonka bean basenotes and airy citrus topnotes with a watery overall tone to it.

yes i know cologne

I favour the more woody scents.

when i first meet a guy, yea cologne is nice and it's sexy if he has a nice smelling one that isn't overpowering. i tend to like mens' cologne that is kinda sweet smelling.

my bf has Givencci (sp?) and it's in this triangle bottle and it's blue. anyway, that stuff smells amazing.

however, once i'm seriously involved and we're an "item" and having sex and all that, and i've come to recognize and love his own natural scent, i really dont like it when he wears cologne. i mean, when we're going out to a bar or a club with friends, obviously he's going to put cologne on and it's nice, but i totally prefer his own natural scent...even when he hasn't showered for a day or 2, he still smells amazing and that's when his scent is most powerful.

natural scent > cologne

as for me, i own the following perfumes

the latest prada perfume that comes in the pink box
escada "rockin rio" (great summery scent to spray on before heading to the beach)
alfred sung "shi" (my favorite by far, and the one i get complimented on the most)
"Falling in love" by Philosophy, sold only at Sephora stores.

my bf says the same about my scent though too. but he still loves when i smell all fresh and clean with any of the above perfumes on.

Ive mentioned it before but they did a huge study where they found that natural scents are how we identify with one another.

They would have guys where a white teeshirt at night and then girls would go through like 40 shirts and make piles of what the scents were.

In the end they found out its allllll about immune systems. In labs, rat with the most opposite immune systems invariably mated producing more resistant offspring (good idea if you ask me).

In humans, the natural scent we identify with carries a specific chemical that is basically an encoded "Heres what my immune system is".

In this study women made 2 piles: Ones they were comfortable with but wouldnt date, and ones that they were attracted to (Usually accompanied by claims that their previous boyfriend/love had had that smell).

The ones that they were ok with usually matched up with their father's scent/had similar immune system patterns.

THe ones that were attractive to them had very different.

In the end the found that shampoos, soaps, deodorants, conditioners, colognes, too long of showers, too frequent of showers, and too hot of showers all lowered the output of these scents.

Also, when youre on birth control your likes switch because it thinks youre pregnant. A statistically significant number of women claim lessened attractiveness to partner after switching whether oro not they are on birth control.
