Anyway, I want to live in goddamn Monaco.

I've been to Monaco, and I gotta say, overall I have a "meh" feeling about it. It feels very cramped there. Sure they've got casinos and shit, but other than gambling your money away, and chilling on your yacht (and by chilling I mean fucking supermodels), there's not much else to do there.

Out of all the places I've been so far, I'd easily choose Switzerland. The scenery there is breathtaking. It's warm, but not too hot; it's cool, but not too cold. The people seem to be so relaxed and down to eart. Blah, that's the attitude of the whole country practically. Plus, you get to race up and down the mountains. I could go on and on.

i just came back from cancun and it was amazing, but in all honesty i couldn't stand living there. Its great fun for a vacation, but to live there would be a different story. As much as we bitch about southern ontario, it is the only place i think that could feel like home. i rather travel a lot and always come back to the familiar. places i'd love to visit:

bangkok
barcelona
athens
cape town
rio de janero
sydney
toyko
cairo
vancouver for 2010 olympics

I lived in South Africa for 13 years of my life (and have the accent to prove it). I lived in Johannesburg but traveled extensively throughout the country. Words cannot begin to describe what a beautiful place it is. The sun shines 300 days a year, the people are alot warmer, the fruits are sweeter and juicer. There are wild animals within a short drives reach and most importantly it has the best party's in the world! Im not trying to exaggerate but I have yet to party here like I did back there. South Africa is a former Dutch colony so up to this day its very much influenced by European trends, and as with Europe the trance scene is dominant in the country. Huge venues cater to 20 0000 + people. Oh man those pictures bring tears to my eyes. However you may be thinking why did u leave paradise to come here". There is one simple reason - CRIME.

^^ what you say is true. south africa (having only seen the western cape) is the most beautiful country I have ever been to. If i could afford to spend the winters there, I would spend every winter there. Hands down, best food, best wine, best shopping, best style of any place I have been. Only problem is the crime... and although we never had any problems, it is evident everywhere, even in capetown.

+1000

Been to Cape Town many times in my life. And I agree with everything you've said. It is sad there is such high crime and crime hysteria. It almost causes the inhabitants to ignore the sheer beauty of their land.

Its a sad tale of 2 worlds. One who lives in complete splendor and beauty the other in squallor 3rd world conditions.

I dunno. i havent done much traveling so I dont have a feel for many cities around the world. I will always consider the GTA my home though no matter where I end up (if anywhere else).

when in other cities it just feels wierd...and when you come back home its such a nice feeling here. Could be just because im used to it being my home, I dunno. Well it definately feels strange when im in the US. I just dont like it.

Posted by loca on Jun-29-2006 18:18:

Hmm i would always call Belgium home... but if i could live anywhere i wanted (provided i had books and an internet connection), i would live here:

FIJI!

I used to think that too until i realized that the 3rd world lifestyle would get to me very, very quickly. I don't wanna see half-naked people living in shantis when i leave the house.
