I'd like this Movado Imperio, even though the design is, I believe, a few years old... When it comes to watches, I like simplicity, not goddamn notches and numbers and dials and shit alllll over the place, that drives me insane. To cluttered. This I like.

I've got an ooooold Perry Ellis chronograph in a drawer here, broken steel band, an Esquire that was a TREMENDOUS waste of money with a broken titanium band (no jewellry place can fix either of these watches which pissed me off), and now I've got a Fossil that I've deemed to be pretty nice. I got sick of my shit breaking, so this Fossil 11 year warranty might come in handy.

No more 'nice' watches until I've got some real coin.

Guess watches are just Timexs with a different name. They may look good but the quality is shit.

man those are some nice watches ..... i think i'm gonna stick my homemade bead braclets though

Posted by starsearcher on Jun-30-2006 14:11:

Hey if you are swimming in $$$ and you are wondering what kind of watch to buy, I'd consider this one too

Posted by zoogla on Jun-30-2006 14:19:

Thank you everyone, for sharing your watches and providing your feedback! Today I'm gonna go to Pacific Mall to check out the replica versions of some of those pricier ones just to see what's up.

Then this weekend I'm probably gonna head to Bloor Street for a little more research...

Yeah, raveed and John, those SLR and Bentley versions are absolutely kick-ass!!!!!

Posted by starsearcher on Jun-30-2006 14:21:

There is a reason why I said you should look at the Breitling watch ONLY if you are swimming in cash...to be more specific, that watch costs almost as much (if not more) as the 2 bedroom condo my mom just recently purchased

It is a piece of art though, not taking anything away from it. Watches are one of my weaknesses

*Edit*
There are much cheaper versions though, this could actually be the cheaper one, but I know there's a Bentley Breitling watch that costs 91,000 British Pounds...

LOL there is a Rolex Daytona (like my #1 pick) that is going for $60,000 on ebay. It's a full platinum case and bracelet, with a diamond-studded bezel. Can you say rap artist?

My personal favourite is Movado, but unfortunately I couldn't afford to spend $1500 on a watch when I decided to purchase one and my Movado watch is still in my head as a purchase, but I opted for an ESQ watch and I love it...

Swiss movement is the way to go.

I don't know if you are planning a vacation anytime soon, but the best prices I have ever seen watches, jewellery and diamonds for that matter was in St. Martaan. Next time I go there, I am going with a huge sum of cash. The prices are unbelievable and the stuff is authentic... seriously... I am getting shivers just thinking about it.

$500 US for the Movado watch I wanted that is $1750 plus tax here in Canada... I just can't believe it.

And loose stone diamonds as almost half the cost of what they would be here in Canada... truly amazing!

best looking watch I've ever seen, excluding the same model in solid gold, of course. pure classic

I have the pictured one in replica... stainless steel and bubble-back to see the oyster-perpetual movement. Interested? I'll look for it if you are. Wore it only a couple of times on nice occasions.

Posted by shanny on Jun-30-2006 14:35:

I unfortunately do not have a watch...

If anyone would like to give me one I would appreciate it greatly!

Posted by starsearcher on Jun-30-2006 14:38:

Fossil watches are not bad and ultra cheap if you're on a budget... they have some nice ones...

Posted by Cosmic Fur on Jun-30-2006 14:41:

I wonder what percentage of Rolex's are actually replicas. That's probably the #1 reason I'd never get a Rolex watch.

Thats my girl, aint she a beaut!

Really? my last watch was an actual fossil chronograph...it was the more expensive kind though and it worked really well

I've moved up since though

I certainly am. Let's have that lunch you BF'd a while back! Bring the watch!

Good call, Killah.

My colleague at work bought a $10,000 ($12,000 including taxes) Rolex, the GMT Master II (the 9th picture I posted) in Mexico when he went on a cruise there for $7,000 cash.

You have to be anal about how to bring it back though, to avoid the duties and shit. He threw away the box, scratched up the green Rolex sticker on the back of the case, mailed his receipt to his Toronto address, AND used butter to make the watch look a bit dingy and dirty in spots!!!! LOL!!!

But I guess you have to do all that to avoid the duty taxes

Posted by Cosmic Fur on Jun-30-2006 15:31:

Seems a little excessive.. He could have just shoved it in his suitcase somewhere, no?

Posted by starsearcher on Jun-30-2006 15:36:

lol yeah that guy put way too much effort into it hahaha

Posted by 4-play on Jun-30-2006 16:02:

Fahad,

Don't go for the Rolex Submariner in Stainless. Way too many fakes out there, and everyone and their momma wears it. I would suggest save some money and go for the Brietling or Tag Carerra (actually is at a very good price). And if you can get it, go for a Rolex Daytona (in Stainless) I would also suggest going to the US and making our purchase. Much better pricing.

Rolex

Breitling

OR as John mentioned, the Bentley version.

Good luck.≈

^ OOOhhhh. The Tag Heuer looks awesome.

Posted by FunkyCrew on Jun-30-2006 16:10:

GUCCI ftw

otherwise, sorry Fahad, not much of a help here

i generally hate round faces on watches, the more the face blends in with the bracelet, the better
