As amazing as it may seem, it's not called music business for nothing. When you are signed to a label you pretty much do what they want you to, because if they don't like what you are doing, they're not going to release it. That is why a lot of artists create their own labels after they get a name for themselves - it allows them to do exactly what they want to do.

Correctomundo

...and thank you for that highly useful contribution.

Maybe this is the first time you actually read what I had to say instead of just looking at my name and drawing your own assumptions?

hehe, well that makes alot of sense. This board doesn't allow voice communication to detect your sarcasm, so the only way we can make asumptions is by actually Reading your posts, not by your name which unfortunately is always nothing but elitist useless negativity.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Jul-11-2006 14:11:

He doesn't mean that. He means he makes countless posts which are simply helpful, but people persist with the notion that he makes nothing but cynical remarks, probably because he's insulted their favourite artist and they have a grudge.

the two times i met him, Holden was a ****... but he was honest and i respect that.

i feel he thinks too highly of himself but i have been able to enjoy a few of his sets in chicago so i must say if he wants to run his mouth off let him. but it's a bit inappropriate to open your mouth like that IMO, a good way to lose fans - just stick to what you do and keep your mouth shut.

Why is it then that the people who think my posts are "elitist useless negativity" are the same few people every single time? I mean look at you - you couldn't find anything to bash me for in my post but you still had to make that completely useless remark. What was the point in that?

Now. would you actually like to say something that's on topic for a change?

No.Nobody wants to stay "on-topic" in TA.

I've really lost quite a bit of respect for James in the last few months...

Actually, I've only been on TA a short time so far, and I can easily see who the cynical elitists are, and its not because I hold a grudge because they insulted any artist i favor. It's because its just plain obvious. I have nothing but forgiveness and pity in my heart for these poor souls that spend too much time on the internet.

What's with everyone hating on minimal these days? I don't play it to be cool, I play it because it's fun.

Bashing on music is a waste of time.

except on epic trance. it's just pure fun

As a music fan one must learn to put up with a little hate, people are always gonna hate on whatever you like no matter what you pick.

People use music to associate themselves with a group, then use their petty insults in attempt to raise thier group above the other ones. Wish people would just fucking deal with it and stop getting into these dramatic feuds just because a person hates their fav track/genre/style.

You all suck, all your music is stupid, your genre desrves to die, my shit doesnt stink!

Other dj's who i think sound like him (based on live sets/radio mixes):Locodice, Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath, Tania Vulcano, Ricardo Villalobos, Clive Henry. There's got to be loads more though, i just haven't heard them (fortunately).

So, he's bandwagon jumping, but you dont know who he's copying?

Holden is a unique artist and hopefully always will be...

Holden is obviously playing the "media" game. Take everything he says with a pinch of salt.

well it's minimal... it works well in a minimal set, it has a minimal kick and precussions, the bass is minimal.
So what's not minimal about the track?
