I buy all my music now, apart from some stuff friends send me or trade.

I will check out trackitdown, and also my friend told me of some other site but I cant fucking remember the name right now...

www.juno.co.uk (one of the UK's best online record stores) do mp3s now... although they rarely seem to do downloads for tunes they've got on vinyl, obviously trying to concentrate on vinyl sales still.

Posted by henryv on Jul-04-2006 23:03:

all together i have around 45gigs of 320kbits tracks

Posted by miamitranceman on Jul-04-2006 23:42:

I've bought about 60 or so off of Beatport.

MUCH nicer to navigate around.

And they do WAVs as well

And they are FUCKING expensive... on avg. its cost me $2.79USD per track... I only buy from there if I can't find something at beatport.

their digital selection does not impress me at all

Yeah they are more expensive, but I tend to think of it the other way round - that Beatport are much cheaper (seeing that Audiojelly etc are about the same price as TID)... I'm afraid it's all because of the distribution laws in the UK meaning they have to give a fat wad of money to the MCPS etc for no real reason.

But personally I'd rather browse round a nice site and buy stuff on the spot than have to trawl round the shite that is Beatport, having the system (particularly the media player) freeze on me half of the time and having to start again just to save a few pence/cents

No, me neither... it's pretty poor isn't it.

There have been a couple of album tracks I've found that I've quite liked and just been able to buy that track on it's own, which is quite useful (things that Beatport didn't have) but on the whole not even worth looking at really, which is a shame.

I've bought over 400 tracks from Beatport.

Posted by keithos27 on Jul-05-2006 14:24:

Beatport: 200ish
Audiojelly: 200ish
iTunes: 1300+
CDs: 200ish
Vinyl: 1000ish

really? i haven't noticed a lot of people playing the tracks I get off beatport (other than the big label ones, renaissance bedrock etc). Also when I checked out djdownload it seemed a fair bit more expensive?

Posted by Spirit5 on Jul-06-2006 04:20:

467 since August, 2005. About 50 off of AudioJelly, and maybe 3 off of TrackItDown. BeatPort is the best, great selection and the quality has improved over time as more and more labels have contributed. Glad Deep Blue is now on there, and hopefully Lost Language will put their whole collection up. Going to download some more but not sure which ones exactly. A bunch of tunes from Bart van Wissen, and a few from Smith & Selway but not sure. I want to add techno into my sets...and i'm going to download 3 Colours - Picture This.

Posted by Spirit5 on Jul-06-2006 05:02:

Okay I downloaded them, a bunch of sweet techno tunes from Smith & Selway. Love "Shift", an oldie but goodie. There was "Movin'" but that just sounded a bit dated for sets. Still good though...and I like "Don't Turn Me Down". Haven't gotten into "Laybrinth" yet...

191 since Aug '05 from Beatport

probably another 20-30 from other various sites including djdownload.com, magneticgrooves.com, stompy.com, resonantvibes.com, and juno.co.uk. Beatport is great because they seem to have the widest selection and fairest prices, but i've found quite a few gems on other sites.

Posted by Protege on Jul-06-2006 18:08:

282 since last August. Would be more if I hadnt started to use vinyl.

Posted by Ricky Tan on Jul-07-2006 18:57:

Well, first purchased off beatport 3 days ago (got cdj's 2 weeks ago). So far 75 tracks I have purchased! Yikes need to slow down.

I am an idiot cusue I find myself purchaing some tracks I really like when I have the vinyl cause I boxed my tables up.

Posted by Tegu on Jul-07-2006 18:59:
