Any of the following go well as intro tracks IMO

kuffdam & Plant - Surface
kuffdam & Plant - Seduction
kuffdam & Plant - Tears (KP Deep Dub)
kuffdam & Plant - summer dream also has a nice intro, but its too much of a 'tune' to use as a first track imo
Elevation - Clear Blue (Intro Mix)
Marcos - La Proxima (Original Mix)
Yahel - Avalanche (Original Mix)
Art Of Trance - Kilimanjaro
Solarstone vs. Scott Bond - 3rd Earth (Original Mix)
Luminary - Wasting (Original Mix)
Marco V - False Light (Original Mix)

I am,lol. Summer dream is my fave tune ever. But all K&P tunes seem to have a decent intro

I currently like:
"Space Cowboy - I Know What Girls Like ( Santos Remix )"

here some other suggestions:

Ashtrax - Digital Reason ( PvD Rework )
Da Hool - MHATLP ( Joachim Garraud Remix )
Marcos - Red Bullet ( Musikman Remix )
Oliver Prime - Mind Games
Paul Van Dyk - Crush ( Album Version )
Rhythm Gangsta - The Crowd Song ( PvD Rework )
Sasha - Rabbitweed
Vadim Zhukov - Earth's Breathing

I sometimes use a recording I got of the his holiness the 14th Dali Lama of Tibet when I was near the Tibetan border in India. Works nicely over incoming beats and I also flick reverse back and fourth so the chant becomes more rythmically matched.

I also use the intro from Planet Rock - Afrka Bambaataa.
I stick a loop on the yeaaaaaah phrase and let the beats kick in, and filter it like crazy with delay etc. This works nicely, but really only good for the first time you play at a club, gets boring if you do it too often.

Cheers
Nem

How about "Sacred Cycles" by Pete Lazonboy. The one thats on GU: CAPE TOWN by Dave Seaman, cd 2 where it starts with spoken words.

The best opener,in my mind ever...

Is:

The Dance Planet - Orbit

I'll upload a sample, since no one here has ever heard of it (at least no one claims too!)

Used by Dave Seaman for intro's to live sets and a legendary Renaissance CD. This has to be my all time favorite intro tune ever...

The Dance Planet - Orbit (Intro) Sample:

I do house but I like to start on a catchy soul-ful track sometimes not even electronic! On my latest set I entered with

Loose Cannons - Why You

This could do some damage in a soul/disco house set as an intro!

Cool

I quite like Markus Schulz Coldharbour remix of Airwaves Lady Blue as a decent track to start with

Posted by shades_of_gray on Jul-14-2006 17:49:

Mauro Picotto - Pegasus (Tea Mix)

For a good banging mix,

Or

Mark Norman - Overkill (Intro Mix)

Posted by Soonmeister on Jul-14-2006 18:03:

Tilt - Twelve ( Midnight Sun Vs Max Graham Intro Remix )

Armin Van Buuren vs Dj Tiesto - Yet Another Suburban Train ( Bootleg )

Above and Beyond - Good For me

Bit of a bump up to get some more recent (or just more) suggestions from folks. As I was going to make a thread about this myself, but not just trance. Was actually looking for some ambient techno stuff myself if anyone knows some good intro tunes in that style.

I'd like to add in 'Mango - Kisses' for a more laid back set, or 'Perry O'neil - Kubik (intro mix)' for something heading towards the progressive slant.

Soonmeister: is there any where to buy that tilt track
