Im not really that big on Ticon, but Vibrasphere is consistantly amazing me with their work. So much so its influencing how my own music pans out.

Israeli psy is the best music I know.

Make sure you all check out Wrecked Machines, The First Stone, Highcosmos, AND Bamboo Forest.

SAMPLE

Correct me if I am wrong, but I always saw full-on as the harder side of psy with [random] lot of sounds and no melody.

you are wrong. full on is the style with most melodies within psytrance.

the melodies are irrelevent

it's mostly the bassline that makes a track full on.

think machine gun basslines; those driving basslines that, even at 145 bpm, seem so much faster and crazier.

Hmmm, When i think of psy-trance i think of...

Juno Reactor
Total Eclipse
Etnica
Hallucinogen
Transwave
X-Dream
Prana
Shakta
Doof
etc...

when i think of israeli psy-trance i think of

Astral projection
MFG
Mystica etc...

What happened to this psy-trance???Although i'm not gonna listen to this stuff now...they used to make me dizzy back in the 90s lol...

Also... If someone could suggest me some really good progpsy albums by Son Kite, Vibrasphere, Human Blue and stuff...also other progpsy bands/projects/names. Although i find it a bit boring though...

that doesn't sound like psy. just prog. and psy won't ever be like trance was (at it's roots I mean). unless we get a miracle.

what other psy subgenres there are aside of goa, full on, psytekk and dark?

ever heard of progpsy? It's been quite big since a couple of years with labels such as Iboga, Spiral Trax, Tribal Vision etc.

Thanks, i'm gonna chech these albums ASAP.In a matter of fact i'm allready listening to samples from "Archipelago".It sounds good but a bit linear though.Does it evolve, are there any melodies and themes and stuff(lol, no i'm not listening to ASOT i just like "music") or just cool atmospheric trancey soundscapes? Is it like the "nasa" set(some light in the tunnel bla bla bla lol)? Also i don't find any big similarities between this "progpsy" stuff and the classic 90s psy-trance such as etnica, transwave, total eclipse, old juno reactor, doof, prana and stuff. These were faster, darker and noisy whereas progpsy is much more housey and cool. Why don't they call it "psychedelic house" lol?

psytrance live acts should quit.

thing is that many of the current progpsy producer did produce goa and psy trance back in the 90s. Check out Human Blue's album I.C.E. for instance. It's pure goa madness. And then compare it with his Electric Roundabout. He kept the melodies from the old sound and mixed it with progressive trance. It blends excellent.

Another thread where everyone is arguing what type of psytrance is superior and people labeling certain styles as "cheesey." Just listen to what sounds good dammit. I personally love full on psy which many deem as lame and cheesey. Well its what I like. I don't go bashing on what you think in your mind is superior psy. We all like music of different kinds. Be respectful of other people's taste in music. I've typed this same message probably 5 times now in these same types of threads. If you want to see what kind of psy I like, click on the either thread link in my sig to see the tracklist. If you think full on is cheesey, then don't bother. To each his own. I also love a lot of progressive psytrance as well such as Lish, Yotopia, Vibrashpere, and Sun Control Species to name a few.

all full on is not cheesy. Bamboo Forest, Electric Universe, Silicon Sound etc is not cheesy. BUT the israeli trend with cheesy songs in the songs is really killing the genre.
Especially after reading the comments on isratrance.com .

I totall agree here. I think sometimes people tend to just classify all full on as cheesey and write it off. Clearly you do not and you have an appreciation for good full on psy. I will admit there is mountains of bad, IMO, full on psy being produced weekly. With psy for me anyways, the bad majorly outweighs the good and you really have to look long and hard for the good full on stuff. Its out there but it seems to come in waves.

lol... give it a rest I think this discussion has been had before

Listen to these albums and tell me full-on is cheesy and/or being killed by Israeli knockoffs. And these have all just been released in the past 2 months too.

Yes, that Optokoppler album is insane, a read step forward for morning full on!!

Posted by RebeL9 on Jul-12-2006 08:27:

well apearantly something has happened to the israeli full on since over at isratrance.com the TOP3 labels which were elected for 2005 were all progpsy labels such as Iboga and Tribal Vision. This amongst hardcore full on ppl!
And many artists even openly say that israeli full on has gone way to samey and something new need to happen in the scene.
