| Originally posted by CandyGirl Just to clarify Jon Jon, I DON'T work for the club... nor do I promote for the club... and quite honestly, if you are that skeptical about what other TA's have to write, why the heck are you reading TA's reviews in the first place? Who the F@ck made you judge & jury? From the sounds of it, YOU'RE probably the one working for a promoter who's in direct competition with Sonic! If not, why the hell are you going out of the way to discredit other opinions? Are you that miserable in your own life that you find it incredible to believe that someone else is having a good time more often than not!? Or are you that closed-minded that you can't imagine someone having a good time at a club that attracts a mixed crowd? Homophobic maybe? Whatever the heck your problem is, what gives you the right to think your opinion is above or beyond everyone elses?! I have been to Sonic most every weekend since it opened & I honestly love the place... the same way I have loved Stereo in Montreal for years before that... and if you knew me even in the slightest, you would know that I have absolutely nothing to gain by my reviews of Sonic, except for maybe the sharing my good experiences in the hope of attracting other like-minded individuals to join our family... obviously, this EXCLUDES closed minded skeptics like yourself! My attendance at Sonic is purely volantary, done on my own accord, on my own time, and I pay cover like everybody else... and my reviews are based on my personal experience and nothing else! When I started this thread (something I've only done twice), it was because it was something I truly felt & wanted to share with my fellow TA's... and it truly bugs the shit out of me that someone as small minded and cynical discredits me based on his uneducated opinion. If you ask me, you're the one who's being ANNOYING!! |

still trying to compose my review. so much good music i can only remember bits & pieces @ a time..
* definitely the best night of music @ the venu since becoming Sonic.
* i thought the crowd left a lot to be desired as the music should've had people bouncing off the walls.
* excellent staff as always. no probs with A/C.
+ music review to come later
ps. daniel where's the pics?
I agree with CandyGirl. A review is one's opinion and experience of the event. She or anyone giving their opinion should not have to justify themselves or specify that it was "the best night I'VE had", that is a given as it is a review. She was not writing on behalf of anyone else but herself. Thank you CandyGirl for your review, I concur it was one of the best nights ever (not just saying that because it was my B-Day). I honestly and truely loved the music, the vibe and the company of friends.
Thank you CandyGirl.
P.S. Don't worry about others, we know how much fun we had. Til next time.

| Originally posted by jon jon Oh for fuck sakes, people affiliated with the club should. It was my mistake for thinking Candygirl was affiliated, I wish I could remember why the hell I thought that. I've already apologized. I'm sick of coming in these Sonic review threads and not having a clue who the fuck works for the club, and who doesn't. And I'm a regular on this board. That was my point. |

hah i'm moonwalking (backwards) out of this thread, whoosh whoosh whoosh
hey know what?
tunes.
are good.
fin.
OK, this went a little further then I intended....
My main reason for saying what I did to Jon Jon was because he quoted Yvonne and I didn't understand why he wouldn't take her review seriously. But that has all been cleard up now, and he has apologized for it.

On another note:
I can understand why someone would take a promoters view of the night as biased. Heck I have been told that people won't take my reviews serious because of my biased opinion
Now what some promoters don't understand is that your review should be based solely on the DJ that played that night. Many promoters do not do that, they talk about the club itself, the staff, the line-up, ect.
As well there are many promoters on here that do disguse themselves as regular party goers, and weeding them out is not that easy.
This was the best night at, not only Sonic, but any club in the entire universe.
