I've seen some famous Dj's and producers post in here but it's very rare.

the one I've seen posting a lot is Mike Foyle, I think he is the "biggest DJ or producer" that is actually active and post frequently in the threads of TA Forums.

Rank 1 (piet) has posted many times in some of our roll call rank 1 shows (roll call threads).. one of which he proposed and somewhat organized a pre TA meetup, that was fun.

In the AVB & ATB white party review thread a ton of bedroom dj's & wannabe's were complaining about ATB's mixing and drop style transitions and the man himself chimed in to defend himself that was clasic! and a class act of him..

AVB killed him in mixing of course though but it was nice to see ATB again.

I've seen Mark Sherry around TA...

Yes; congratulations you got it right. By big I mean famous DJ with good rankings on DJ Mag list.

NOT big in body size or fat.

Guys: I have edited my first post with all your names included.

Posted by *ian* on Jul-19-2006 07:53:

kuffdam , phynn, airbase, paul mendez

nope, you've missed my point. It was about how do we decide WHO is big or not. EG. Tiesto - love him or hate him, he's a recognisable name worldwide, Then take say, Jonas Steur. Sure, he's probably more talented than tijs, BUT as far as reputations go, he's nowhere near his level. From that perspective, I'd say you'd be better changing it to 'djs who post on ta' else we could literally list half of the producers/dj's section here who've played a couple of gigs out, if you get me.

Darude

lol @ inclusion of mikey mike :P

p.s. i wonder if DJ Mag will discount any vote for Mikey Mike this year..

Posted by Push2005 on Jul-19-2006 09:13:

M.I.K.E & Fred Baker also read these forums

And you forgot Airwave ('Lolo') too

Both Jonas Steur and Tiesto will come on the list. Give your brains some rest.

I'm not even trying to start anything here, just querying how you determine who is 'big' or not. Stop taking everything so seriously, i only used Jonas as an example, and I did so with a good explanation. I know you hate me, that's fine, but that doesn't mean I can't ask a constructive question of you surely

don't be such a drama queen. He does actually have a point.

Jonas isn't a big name.
Thomas Datt isn't a big name
Mike Hiratzka isn't a big name
Paul Mendez isn't a big name.

Jonas is probably the biggest of those just because of ASOT, but you still wouldn't say "big name drawcard".

I don't even think I've heard of those last two.

They may be recognisable to some people, but they are far from big names. They just don't have the widesread recognition/reputation of say Dumonde, Markus Schulz, James Zabiela, Darude.

Its not worth starting a big argument about, but its definitely not worth being a twat about people bringing up because it is a valid point.

You guys decide, no probs.

Its just that if someone comes in and tell DJ Rjt also posts here and stuff, than its quit obvious he should be in that list or not.

And I think we will see Jonas Steur, Menno high in the DJ mag list next year. Not because of ASOT; but because of their good work in ASOT.

Posted by Trance Nutter on Jul-19-2006 11:15:

I said it was a valid point and you shouldn't act like a twat for someone bringing it up. I didn't say you should remove the names from the list.

But yeah, Mike Hiratzka and Paul Mendez, should I know these names

I know for a fact that Armin Van Buuren browses TA once in a while.

Actually, in one of his interviews (I cant remember which) he says that websites like TA and trance.nu are a great support for the Trance Music in general.

So, Armin, say hi to me with PM when you read this post ))
