Not if we're playing like we did against Barcelona, or if we start producing and winning over the weaker teams, because that was what got us nowhere..

Posted by fastmp3 on Jul-20-2006 00:40:

winning barca twice in the season doesn't mean anything

Posted by nettwerk on Jul-20-2006 00:50:

First post is updated with all Atltico-games on.

Atltico is starting against Racing Santander on the 27th of August. Then a couple of tough games against Valencia, Athletic Bilbao and Sevilla. On the 1st of October this year, we'll be playing against Real Madrid on Santiago Bernabeu.

Then Recreativo Huelva and later on Deportivo la Corua, Real Zaragoza, Mallorca and Villarreal.

Barcelona on the 20th of December.

The re-meetings is going to be played next year, January and February is going to be very tough because that's where we'll be facing teams like Valencia, Real Madrid, Osasuna and Celta Vigo.

The second meeting with Barcelona is on the 20th of May 2007, the game will be played at Vicente Caldern.

Looking forward to this season!

Fernando Torres has arrived to Madrid today and is going to decide whether he's going to move from Madrid or stay together with Atltico's manager, Mexican, Javier Aguirre.

According to the latest news from yesterday and today, it's said that Manchester United has made a bid on 33 million . Interenazionale has also made a bid appereantly, that bid seems to be even higher than Manchester Uniteds..

We'll see during the day.

Posted by fastmp3 on Jul-21-2006 21:34:

i don't think Torres is leaving anywhere

Posted by zoric on Jul-21-2006 21:59:

Fernando Torres was training with the team today and Enrique Cerezo said that media had come up with all those transfers. So, It looks like Torres is staying another season.

On paper a great looking squad but the managerial merry go round always lets them down and will probably finish between 7-11

Posted by zoric on Jul-22-2006 10:58:

Javier Aguirre is a great manager, and I think he was a great signing when the club decided to get him. Look what he did to Osasuna in 4 seasons!

Carlos Bianchi was very bad last season, he got fired after a while and then Pepe Murcia came, but didn't give any bigger effect on the team.

This surely looks a lot better with Aguirre, and hopefully we'll get Raul Garcia. It's a lot of money, and Putos are interested in him. Go away Putos!

The first pre-season game was won earlier today against Atltico B. The goals was scored by Sergio Agero (1:0 after 26 minutes of play) and Azcrate after 43 minutes of play.

Fernando Torres finally commented the rumours about him and Manchester United and he decided to stay with Atltico. I'm glad he isn't leaving Atltico, and I certainly hope he starts performing well for once.

The team is travelling to Dresden, Germany where they're going to train and play two friendly-games against Energie Cottbus tomorrow, and Dynamo Dresden on the 29th of July.

Squad for the Germany & China tour:

Goalkeepers: Cullar, Leo Franco och Falcn

Defenders: Lpez, Perea, Pablo, Perna, Azcrate, Seitaridis and Z Castro

Midfielders: Galletti, Maxi, Petrov, Valera, Gabi, Luccin, Miguel de las Cuevas and Costinha

Attackers: Torres, Keman, Agero, Braulio and Toch

Aguirre has left out Ibagaza, Musampa, Velasco, Garcia Calvo and now the latest player to be left out is Molinero.

Transfers:

The Costinha deal is finally done after medical tests which he passed. He's officially a Atltico-player now.

Osasuna has turned down Atltico's offers for Raul Garcia, and it looks like he isn't coming Atltico.

Energie Cottbus (1) vs. Atltico de Madrid (1)

Goalscorers: 0:1 Agero (45'), 1:1 Vanguart ('71)

The first 45 minutes was Atltico's and they played very well on the midfield. Sergio Agero scored Atltico's goal, Kezman with the pass for the second time in two games. Ivan Cellar got the chance tonight instead of Leo Franco. He had the clean sheet until the 71st minute, when Atltico had substituted many players which resulted in a equalizer.

Atltico Madrid: Cullar; Seitaridis (Valera, 46), Pablo Ibez (Azcrate, 50), Perea (Z Castro, 50), Perna (Antonio Lpez, 46); Gabi, Luccin, Galletti, Petrov (Miguel de las Cuevas, 50); Agero (Braulio, 46) och Kezman (Toch, 46).

Energie Cottbus: Piplica; Jianey, Mckema, Kukecka, Rost; Rivic, Munteanu, Shao, Mitreski; Radu y Kuntpel. Tambin jugaron Tremmel, Aaurhart, Da Silva, Aidoo, Jzelegi, Mikel, Kanik, Vangart och Ladzowski.

Dynamo Dresden 0:0 Atltico de Madrid

Dynamo Dresden: Berbig; Oppitz, Votava (Koch, 46'), Erneman, Stocklasa; Kugler (Koziak, 46'), Ullich, Knackmus (Hauser, 46'), Ludwig; David (Vorbeck, 46') och Wurth.
Atltico Madrid: Falcn; Valera (Seitaridis, 46'), Pablo (Azcrate, 46'), Perea (Z Castro, 46'), Antonio Lpez (Perna, 46'); Galletti (Maxi Rodrguez, 58'), Luccin (Gabi, 46'), Miguel (Costinha, 58'), Petrov (Agero, 58'); Braulio (Fernando Torres, 58') och Toch (Kezman, 46').

Costinha played less than 10 minutes before he got red carded. Torres missed open goals, and Kezman had one good chance to score but the goalkeeper saved the shot very nicely. Torres could've scored two, and should've scored 2 goals, first when he missed a open goal, and then later on when he shot at the goalkeeper, from close range.

Man of the match: Martin Petrov.

The team is now going to China.
