Yeah well if people like you keep supporting the crap guys like Alucard keep pissing out, you will be there well before me.

Posted by mikefasssy on Aug-04-2006 04:58:

haha yes! lithium the fuckin joke is back! yes yes yes yes!

1. where was that huge idea you had that was being reviewed by industry heads a year ago? oh yea? NOWHERE.

2. you are a fool thinking that more than 1% of partiers AT any event notice or care about sound quality. a complete fool.

3. you don't seem to understand that it isn't about technicalities, it is about the music, and having a good time. i know exactly what kind of trainspotter you are, the one on the corner of the dancefloor that nods his head and his first comment on the end of a show is how such and such a mix wasn't that great. fuck you. THAT is what is destroying trance music, people who are bitter about others enjoying their tight circle of music, people who forgot about what it was like back in the day. there weren't technicalities then, sample quality sucked, post-mixing was mediocre, and song structure was more generic than ever.....but people were still going bananas.

4. you come in ripping threads? ripping a business? fucking disgusting. nobody ever ripped black tiger recordings.

5. i know why you are bitter. its because you try so hard, and put so much time and effort into creating music, and then other people throw out tunes and make it look so easy. and that pisses you off, because you have been trying so hard and for so long and still haven't got anywhere.

5. a while ago some of your associates handed out some promos of black tiger releases, and they all had your name scrawled in shiny silver ink on the front? since when does the mastering engineer give out autographs. how fuckin cocky can you get.

ps. those records are at the BACK of my fuckin crates

Posted by djlithium on Aug-04-2006 05:10:

Who the fuck are you again??

And those records were 3 years old. Unfortunately I couldn't be at that event to filter who recieved records. And btw, I didn't sign any of the records "as the engineer" I signed them because I own the label and it probably was a "DJ Lithium Presents: VinyVictoryVolume X" copy. You say it's cocky for me to put out a record with my name on it with tracks that I believe in from producers from around the world??

Your logic is a bit flawed there. What have you done lately? Sucked it on tranceaddict??

And again... NO ONE HERE who is attacking me has taken to task the BS that originally started this. The bogus statement about compressed mp3s sounding better than waves as stated above from Sean. That's why I jumped in here. To correct a blatantly ignorant statement by someone who is really just on here to sell you something.

I don't come on here often because its basically the quad squad on these forums who just drool over tracklists and generate useless banter about who is better than who. But when I see someone flat out not know a god dam thing about what they are talking about, passing it off as if its fact, I will put my two cents in. So back the fuck up ?Mike Fasssy?.

Posted by Judgelex on Aug-04-2006 05:11:

Lithium you midas well stage Exit before you dig yourself any deeper....Poor bastard is just clusterfucked cause Armada is selling more records than his label....

Posted by djlithium on Aug-04-2006 05:12:

You guys are hillarious. Again you ignore my initial point.

Posted by mikefasssy on Aug-04-2006 05:15:

haven't you kind of noticed the general trend that everyone here thinks you are some sort of disease. how much more obvious can it get that you are not wanted in this community.

ps. all the records say is DJLITHIUM in caps all over the sleeve

"1. where was that huge idea you had that was being reviewed by industry heads a year ago? oh yea? NOWHERE.

2. you are a fool thinking that more than 1% of partiers AT any event notice or care about sound quality. a complete fool.""

Ok I will answer these two things straight out.

1 is still being worked on but it now involves a lot more people outside of BTR and its intergrated itself into another form rather unexpectedly but actually for the better because it makes a better business case. It's taken a lot longer than I would have liked it to and I will admit that but all good things take time. The caliber of people involved was also important and along the way a lot of flakes popped up with attitudes like yours. Thankfully however the real meal deal people are now stepping forward because they are starting to realize just how out of balance things are at the moment and they are willing to take action. This is a good thing, if you agree with me or not. There is a serious lack of diversity right now in what is being pushed, played and produced and stagnation is a bad thing. These people recognize this as I did 2 years ago when one of our earlier releases came in under this program. It does work and although I hate having to move slow on things, its almost time for the fruits of that labor to be enjoyed.
As for industry heads, they are completely clueless. So myself, my partners in the program have decided there is no reason to involve them because they can't get their heads wrapped around it and they move slower than 'the system' does.

AS for your second point... THIS ANOTHER REASON WHY DANCE MUSIC is going down hill. All people care about at party it seems these days is to be seen and to pop pills. The music, the quality of the sound, the performance value of the entertainers (and this is the entertainment industry) is completely in a state of disarray and sub-standard. This isn't dance culture as it should be. This is fly by night promoters, driven by popularity contest motives, fuelled by out of control substance abuse. Want to get blasted at a party, fine, just know when to go home instead of making yourself and the rest of the "scene" look like a crack house with a large stereo system to others who are just getting into it or on their way out because its disgusting. These problems were far and few between just a few years ago when people actually cared about how the "culture" was presented in the public. Parties were more like festivals, not high-school dances where everyone had their own spiked punch. By dumbing things down in terms of performance, sound, venue and entertainment value, the damage done to positive growth at events and its perception by the public became almost irreversible.

although i don't 100% agree with kelly, he does have some very valid and strong points.
and you guys bashing on him, also have some faulty ones.

there is no one or the other. a lot of it a is a matter of personal choice so biting somebody's head off because you don't agree with their point of view doesnt solve anything.

i like my vinyl, and i enjoy playing it more than playing CDs, even though its 100 times easier when you've got CDJ 1000s at your disposal.

all of you guys need to chill tho, no need to get overly excited about a subjective issue. state your points, give your reasons, but personal attacks really aren't necessary. we're not 14-year old hormonal boys, be nice to each other

Posted by djlithium on Aug-04-2006 06:03:

Thanks

Point is, Sean G. is still misinformed (trying to be polite) about the differences between audio compression (reduction in size) vs. audio compressor (limter/compressor systems used in audio production and mastering sessions).

I went off, because its just flat out mis-information and I am tired of people who spread that kind of stuff around who seem to be in a position to know, but don't and should know better.

I will try to be a nicer kat.

If everyone (well really only the select few, not the mass of people claiming first flamming rights as suggested earlier) just got off the "let's kill vinyl because its the old way" trip, and actually had some knowledge and experience to put forward in their statement, I probably would be a little less rabid.

Posted by Judgelex on Aug-04-2006 06:13:

Apparently I KNOW NOTHING!

Posted by mylespower on Aug-04-2006 08:57:

lithium.

you've got alot of moxie and i respect that.

i don't know you personally but i am glad that atleast one other person on here was shocked at the mp3 being better than wave comment as i was.

i suppose it takes an audio engineer like yourself to really take that one to heart.

sean g.

you're an entreprenuer and seem like you have a real "go get'em" attitude and i respect that like you wouldn't beleive... i know what its like to put up investment and go out on a limb to make it in business
But for the credibility of your business' presence, i would really be a bit more carefull about making a bold statement like that especially without evidence...

but i think your site is fantastic and i wish you great success with your venture.

This is interesting. Really it's a win win for everyone here. I believe that there is no such thing as bad publicity and now this thread has gotten some extra attention. This probably means that both Black Tiger Recordings and Playittonight.com will be getting more people talking and getting extra hits on their sites, which could result in a few extra sales and attention for both of them.

I think its entirely possible that both will end up being very successful, at least I hope so. So let the rage continue and the debate live on!

Play It Tonight is by far my favorite download sore. They have all of the features that Beatport has and then some.

If anything, sites like Play It Tonight are saving dance music...
