so where can i get this stuff???
i found the mixer on ebay for an amazing price.
buy where would i get the cdjs???

Posted by Arsalan on Jul-21-2006 22:48:

go with the behringer its gonna last you longer & you get more with less

if you think the mixer is too much and you think you will continue buy the vmx 300 by behringer, i been using my friends VMX300 & have NOOO complaints unless your comparing it to a pioneer ;d

i'm going to get this behringer.
but would like to get the cdj's for a cheaper price that i've seen online.

what stores are there around toronto/mississauga area????

i know....i need a new hobby. and i know that i want to get into it as a hobby. i have like nothing to waste time with.

I've been doing a lot of reading in the DJ Booth / other forums and the Vestax PCV-275 seems like a highly recommended mixer... Though I believe its discontinued, I picked a new one up for $200 just a few days ago actually.

It seems nice enough, 3 channels allowing for future expansion... etc.

And I went the other route and got a pair of 1200mk2s for $400.

Then blew 200 on a sennheiser hd25-1 + upgraded pads.

The vinyl will kill me. Both in cost and finding good ones... ah well...

Also, I'm pretty much in the same booth as you. I need a new hobby, I've been obsessed with 'the perfect mix' since I was like 12... and I need to kill some more time

/sorry for the partial threadjack

PS. stay away from vestax

this man speaks from wisdom. totally agree.

every point he makes is right... you dont have to buy something super expensive... but u have to get something at least average... other wise the crap gear u do get will hold you back until u can afford to upgrade.

for example, u dont have to get CDJ1000's off the start... CDJ800's are good enough, but they're quality.

and iterms of stores, here are two good ones:
www.playderecord.com
www.moogaudio.com

Well I will have to say that I would take an Xone 62 or 92 over the DJM600 or 800 anyday

Unless your into crazy fucked up skillz like zalbia(sp?) then you will never need the 800 .. most big name djs will say 92 over anything but the RANE rotary mixers ..

you can get the Xone62 for like 900 bucks ... which is a really good deal .. i paid 750 for mine .. but thats cuz i bought 2cdj1000s with it ..

the cdj800s are amazing decks and well worth the price

dont get anything under the cdj200 tho

I would take a xone 62/92 over a djm 500/600 for sure but not over my djm 800. I have played on all these mixers and the djm 800 takes the cake. The 800 has excellent sound quality and more bang for the buck when it comes to midi over the xone 92. The only mixer which AH have that can do midi like the 800 can is the 3D but the price is absurd. Below is what can be assigned to midi on the djm 800.

For the newbies out there the vestax 275 is a very good choice despite what others have mentioned about it. I sold mine a long time ago but it was definitely a very good mixer for the money. The price you can pick these mixers up for these days makes it a no brainer and there is a rotary option for those who prefer knobs. I will be adding the rotary kit to my djm 800 soon

I agree the midi support on the 800 kills the Xone's...if you need midi of course
