Truthfully, you can create any pad sound you want with any vsti, hardware or software synth. One can create amazing pad-sounds from merely understanding synthesis and stacking multiple malstroms and subtractors.

I have experimented with the triton, atmosphere, and virus ti - all great pad creators, but truthfully none of it is ultimately neccessary if you spend enough time learning synthesis.

ok well if you want something sharper go for saw - and play with freq make attack mid and release medium high to blend your notes

squares will give you a gabriel and dresden type mellowness usually

sine is sorta like i dunno itll give you either very fake pad sounds or VERRRY mellow pads depending on fx usage i.e. verb you know.. etc.

triangle will be similar to sine..

truthfully most sounds you here on professional tracks r saw or square with an occassional sine or triangle type sound play with like adding a couple saws and then a sine in when you stack or a triangle.. itll add depth to the stacked pad

does that help?

just master saw and square functions and FM and lfos

you can play a little with the sine and triangle waves but the majority of sounds youll like r square n saw

hope that helps

any more q'ss im free
