nah, one of the other guys is on holiday, i'll get roasted if i throw a sickie

I would like to see PvD sometime this year, but I can't be fucked with the rest of the lack of talent on that lineup. I will wait and hope that his Godskitchen replacement set is going to be sooner rather later. Definitely don't want to miss that one.

I'm giving this serious consideration. My main concern is that pvd is going to be the meat in a fluff sandwich.

i think Greg could be a pleasant surprise, seen him once or twice and has been really good, nice and techy with not an ounce of fluff. However.....this is biggest gig to date so guess there is a chance he may go a bit fluffy.

Not sure bout Mr Gold on last, feel it could a bit of a let-down. This night is so gonna piss all over Tiesto there a couple of weeks ago.

Posted by zag2me on Aug-24-2006 17:22:

Graham Gold is always a crowd pleaser, he will get everyone going. Its a shame Patterson isnt on before pvd, he's got some awesome productions i'd like to hear at peak time.

Posted by DFOP04 on Aug-24-2006 18:30:

its a shame patterson isnt on last, when he played after pvd at passion few months back he tore the place up, the man is a genious, was banging out stuff like aalto rush which was a pleasent surprise, much of his set was the quality trance that came out circa 03 time. mixing was top notch too.

downey should be awesome, hoping he bangs it out discover style.

see you down the front

i wouldn't call greg downey particularly fluffy at all; the stuff he plays always has a tough driving kick to it, similar to john askew

simon patterson would have indeed made a better finisher than graham gold though.. i can't really imagine him doing the post-warmup slot since he's played really upbeat the times i've seen him

Posted by shades_of_gray on Aug-25-2006 12:41:

Like to see Gold struck off the line-up tbh.
But it seems like he's bringing good times back to Slinky.

and perhaps Garry White warming up instead of Vedo, and Stick Patterson or Downey on last, but as Slinkyhead said this is Downey's biggest gig to date, so putting him on last would really show us what he is made of.

Posted by slinkyhead on Aug-25-2006 14:09:

ohhh Garry White would have been awesome, but hey, we can't do anything bout the line-up or order and its still gonna be an awesome night. See you all there

look out for this mug (me on the right in the white):

solid night of trance, was impressed with both Patterson & Downey, first time i had seen them both, Patterson played some dirty tunes!!!

PvD was good, hammered it for all 2 hours, can remember a few tunes he played, but whats happened to the Slinky lasers

Flat 6 - Its To Late

enough said!!!!!!!!

downey just wiped mr van dyk off his thrown, absolute stormer of a set. tunes flying out everywhere dnny0 - drop it, your love (o'callaghan remix), cruise control, vivid intent, that man is on fire!!!!

Ohhh yes, classic.

That was a perfect opening tune for Downey, setting the tone for his set, nice and tough. No fluff in his set at all, top notch.

Van Dyk was good, nice and techy with a few uplifting tunes thrown in, alot more animated behind the decks than usual, looks like he was actually having fun, rather than just stood there like a fucking cardbord cutout.

Gold wasnt bad, working those eq's like crazy, heard Sassot - Empty (Aly & Fila Remix) then left.

wicked night

Superb night

Really good turnout, loved Simon Patterson's set, Paul van dyk was great as well. I think I have some horrible pictures coming up on DSI

Love this photo of pvd, he's such a legend.
