-- when is PVD or Kyau vs... coming to T.O?

I Inquired about bringing PVD to Toronto a few weeks ago because I had the facility to throw it at.

the problem is 3 things:

1) He is booked until next year
2) He will not play for anyone that has not booked him before because he is in such big demand and doesn't want to deal with the bull
3) The only place he has played in TO is guv....and he seems to have something against the guv.....

Thats my 2 cents

Ampz

(as for KvsA, thats Kristina Sky's/Pulser's new group and they have had NO luck breaking into the TO market)

What? Kyau vs. Albert is Ralph Kyau & Steven Moebius Albert, according to Discogs.

As for the club, he apparently spent around $20 million building it and I can believe it! It's beautiful and the ceiling is crazy!!! Plus it's a smaller venue (Capacity is 800) which makes for a more intimate setting. I was there for Armin back in July and you can get right up to the booth and shake hands with the DJ! Great club!!!

please dont post again, it seems like you know a lot but you know nothing at all
ps: i liked the kaboul part

I can understand not dealing with the BS of having a new club book you,to a certain extent. But to not come back to a city at all to play anywhere cuz "you" have issues. pfft. anyways, another Diva DJ in the makings imo. I don't want to see him back here anyways...not worth my money. I rather pay $200 to see Yoji back here then to see PvD ever again.

As much as I'm the ringleader of the 'Bring PVD back to Toronto' bandwagon, these threads are getting a little tiresome.

Fuck PVD, fuck him right in his ear. I don't have time for any DJ that doesn't have time for Toronto. Shit, it's only the 4th largest market in North America.... clearly it isn't worth his time.

Another one of these...? Who's gonna start the next Tiesto thread.

I think that Rumour has been going around for like 3 years now!

But 800 Capacity? wtf? for Tiesto? What are the chances of getting into that>?

Guv's not closing down anytime soon.

As for PVD...I don't care if he hasn't been here for a while. I would just love to see him here sometime soon

lol @ the Diva DJ comments. I'd like to see some of you find another DJ who does as much for non-profit humanitarian causes as PVD. He's at the top of his game and doesn't want to deal with the hassle and honestly I think he's deserved it.

It amazes me how many of you think that just because you're from Toronto that these DJs OWE you something. Sorry, but they don't owe you shit.

Personally, I don't think he owes Toronto, however, I refuse to support anyone who clearly can't be bothered to play here. Really, what he's saying is that those of you here that want to see him, purchase his albums and support him are not important enough to justify the "hassle" of spinning records for 3-4 hours and grabing a shitload of money in the process. That would be like me saying to a client "I'm sorry I can't accept the assignment you want to give me because I have better things to do." Guess how many assignments I would get from them in the future?

PVD doesn't book himself. Your grudge should be against the promoter's lack of initiative in getting him here.. not against him as a DJ.

Do you honestly believe no promoters have tried to book him? Do you honestly believe he has no say in what venues he will or won't play?

If he was a starting DJ then no I wouldn't believe it.. the fact that he has a staff.. a record label.. VONYC.. amidst numerous other things going on.. then yeah, it's hard to decipher what he handles himself.. I don't understand the hate to begin with though so I guess I'm biased. He's my favourite DJ and I don't whine just because he hasn't been back to Toronto.

Moral...it's still a firt come first serve thing. And if he's booked in other parts of the world...do u really expect him to turn all of them down just so he can come here and not have you feel like he don't love TO anymore.

It doesn't work that way.
If you love the dj...then you go to him or you wait patiently till he comes. I always thought it was supposed to be about loving the dj and his music. Not about seeing him live and favouring a city.
