It's more fun though when not everyone agrees with you, gives a more interesting if sometimes fucked up perspective. I learn more from the people here than many other places

l guess, you have to be mentally and emotioanlly strong to argue with really stubborn people that are on here, the ones that know that they are wrong and still try to prove they are right...that's wrong

one word: xpander

like pvd with for an angel

I disagree. Xpander is a great song with Charlie May that is much better than for an angel in terms of production value and Sasha has some great tracks on Airdrawndagger with May/Junkie XL as co-producers but overall I do not think Sasha is known for his productions but his DJing. He is first and foremost a DJ in my mind and not a producer and his DJing made him a superstar. Paul Van Dyk could be argued both ways, that his productions made him popular or his DJing(what i think), but if I took it soley based on his efforts with For an Angel I would say it was his DJing without a doubt.

To me DJs didn't really get popular for their productions until the turn of the century. The first man that comes to mind is Tiesto. Before his remix of Silence he was just another Dutch DJ but after that people thought he was great. In fact I am hard pressed to think of an epic trance DJ(there are other genre djs that do not follow this) that rose to popularity after 2000 without first having him be known as an established producer first. So I guess what I'm saying is that before 2000 the focus was on the DJing and the overall set and after 2000 it became individual tracks.

guess one could also mention the early isos series for tiesto
