nah the link's still active, grabbing the set now

cheers!

Yeah Sean Tyas is an above average producer at the moment, I wouldn't say he's brilliant though. I quite like the bassline he uses, most of his productions are quite enetgetic and uplifting.
I'm not really fond of his rework for "Open Your Eyes", I think it's rather pointless...

Check out Mirella though that track is red hot!!

yeah sounds fishy to me too. hard trance must have gone really soft is he is labelled as hard trance

Posted by dslim04 on Aug-07-2006 04:17:

He is One my favs producers and not really diggin his reworks tracks but his own tracks mmmm...."Candida".

erdega - Not even close to hardtrance man!

compare "Candida" To umm let's say "Hennes & Cold - The Second Trip (Alex Kidd vs Dark By Design Remix)"

2nd one is a hardtrance track just to let u know .

Let me know if u hear a difference in sound and layouts of these two tracks.

No, he was just saying it was harder than usual.
And if he thinks it's hard trance then check the tune mentioned above.
Dark by Design Remix of "9 Bar" FTW!!

cannot believe that no one has mentioned:

djx2's tribute to Sean Tyas

i think you'll see that Sean has a bit more meat in his discog than just reworks.

his stuff really works well in clubs

bring on the tyas age!

I actually think it's quite good

Loved his remixes of Muhanjala and On Your Mind, don't really rate Lift or his other works.

I think he's one to watch in the coming years, sort of like how James Zabiela was a few years back, except in trance. His remix work is very impressive, as well as his own productions, although the person I think is really gonna blow up soon is Menno De Jong, I think he's up for big props soon!

everyone said that about him last year

Sean Tyas - Lift (Flow) is his best production!

Posted by kparker on Aug-07-2006 16:52:

His productions are solid imo!!! I had nevr heard of john O'callaghan either, but he is solid as well.

The rework of True Form "Forbidden Colors" is really cool, even though I don't listen that much to his stuff.

So it was him, bleh!

One of my favourite tracks, and he replaces the awesome bubbling bassline with a boring offbeat one.

Boo, hiss!

Posted by Kapedano on Aug-07-2006 17:11:

Sean Tyas - Remember. This track does it for me. The rest are nothing special imo.

He has decided to not go in the "Hey I'm cool too" direction of everyone and their sister playing emotionless electrohouse, and now has reached even deeper into the real "dance your fucking ass off" tech-trance.

(from his biography)

a little pretentious for someone who plays a lot of emotionless tech-trance, when there are a ton of people dancing their fucking asses off to electrohouse

also a funny fact is that his younger brother, DJ Ryan Tyas, plays electrohouse.

haha

Agreed 100%.

Just had a listen to his remix of Legend B - Lost In Love.
Lost In Love has a special place for me since it was one of my earliest trance favourites. There have been plenty of remixes of this tune. Red Jerry, DJ Taucher and Starecase are just a few and the ones which stands out.

However it's obvious that Sean Tyas just wanted to give Lost In Love a more updated sound rather than a total remix. Until the break everything sounds ok. After the break you expect some banging shit. BUT man what an anti-climaxe. Nothing of the energy from the original is left here.
The bass just keeps going and when the classic melody finally kicks in it sounds extremly "choked" and is covered in all effects surrounding it.

Some tunes should be just left alone. This is one of them.

harder, as in harder but still melodic trance than your usual ASOT tune, wouldn't you agree ?

good track! also I thought Akretis - There is a Time (Sean Tyas & Dave Prodygee remix) was a really good one too.

I have been a fan of all his productions lately, but Lift doesn't seem to do it for me. Tracks like remember, candida, and so far so near i thought were great.

I know what you mean. Its getting a LOT of exposure, people love it, but I dont seem to love it as much I do some of his other stuff.
Remember is a far better tune imo.

His remix of Silent Tears is his best work that I've heard imo.
