How to confound pattern recognition algorithms. A Treetease by me

The First:
Expose it to several patterns simultaneously.

The Second:
Limit exposure of the algorithm to only a specific subpattern.

The Third:
Is to have a seemingly repeating pattern that then shifts with time.

The first defeats the algorithm because it can not reconcile the multiple patterns into one. The second and the third because the algorithm is believed to be so accurate for so long that it is slow to reinterpret new data rather than placing it into a pre-existing pigeon hole.

Of course my personal favourite ploys are to
a) use one symbol to represent multiple things
b) use multiple symbols to represent one thing

my favorite thing to point out is the way women are such detail oriented creatures, as opposed to the simple minded, carefree men.

hmm.... I'm going to read a bit more on the biological differences, although from what I've read, as these theories often seemed to be ad hoc ones.

I can totally relate to that (my girlfriend hates my carefree way of doing things), even though my father tends to lie on the female side of this conversation as well (and he also hates my carefree way of doing things ).
