Not all of us enjoy meeting DJs simply because we idolize them...when I met Barbara, I had just gotten into DJing, and it was nice that someone I really admired and respected as an artist and also as a business woman took time out of her very busy schedule to contact me and keep in touch after that.

I will still be a screaming fan at her gigs but not because I idolize her as some Superstar DJ, more because I really respect what she has done with her career and how she has treated her fans. (and because I like what she plays!)

No, I dont really care either. Not a big deal for me. Cool I guess if i get a chance to shake his hand, tell him I appreciate the ch00ns, mixing and vibe he lays down at parties, maybe an autograph, but generally i dont worry about it, and if none of the above every happened i dont much care. if the op comes along on its own tho, thats nice

I got to talk to Piet from Rank 1 at a premeet, which was cool. And got to tell Johan before how much I really loved his sets plus got a photo w/ him that night (which Cam later got signed for me, thx buddy)

Armins still prolly my fav DJ, but ive never met him or had a photo w/ him and i really dont care about that. its more just a cool 'souvenir' of sorts thats kinda cool to look back on maybe later in life which u can reflect on in ur head

I'd like to meet Sander K...

I'd like to tell him that his tracks are hot, and that his music makes me dance and smile...

I'd like to give him a high five...

Maybe tell him that he's a cutie...

But yeah...no squealing or screaming...I'd be smiling a lot though

Yeah you don't usually end up squealing anyways. I always thought i'd do that but when it happened to me i was practically speechless lol

I squealed once he was gone though hahahahaha

If the opportunity arises, I usually decline. I don't really see the value in a short 30 second exchange with a DJ. I'm just going to say the same bullshit to him that he's already heard from thousands of fans, and I'm just going to hear the same bullshit from him that he's already told thousands of fans.

That said, I would really like to party with Sasha (not just meet him). The reason? He's a rockstar just like me.

Posted by Cribby on Aug-17-2006 16:59:

I would love the opportunity to party at an afterhours side by side with Donald Glaude. I can imagine us headbutting each other and randomly screaming lol. A deadly combination of me destroying the dancefloor and elbowing everywhere and Glaude flinging his massive hair around. My god...the ridiculous possibilites!

Can't forget....we'd hump pillars together.

When I went to 2thebeat and saw Lady Dana - I got really nervous. Thank goodness my sister was there with me. She pushed me, like a horse pushes its foal. She is great. I think she's awesome. I think it was because I looked up to her so much, I really became nervous when I wanted to talk to her.

I wasn't as nervous meeting Lenny Dee. I did get a kiss on the cheek from him. <3

First time I met Jelo? bahahahah. He's such a nice guy - i'm surprised he hasn't gotten a restraining order on me. [as yet] <3

You'd be surprised at how many DJs take comments from fans to heart, regardless of how many times they have heard the same thing.

And sometimes, they may play a set that they felt unsure of or thought was subpar on their standards, and hearing it was great is often appreciated.

DJs are just other people, who enjoy complements on their work just like anyone else does.

I didn't have a chance to party beside him at an afterhours.. but I have met him a few times and once after a gig he chilled at my place drinking vodka while we discussed everything from how cute Steve Smooth is to American politics.. hehe
He's a fun guy for sure! One of the nicest DJs out there I am sure too.

I have had the pleasure of meeting my fave DJ on a few occasions. I have my pic with him, he has put me on VIP for Awakenings in Holland and he is such a sweetheart.

The first time I met Preach I didn't know what to say really.. he says to me "you're the one that flew to DV to see me and now you drove 6 hours from TO to see me?" yes was my response and his back to me was "you are one crazy girl, thank you"

I was just in awe.. as Jay (all-nite-freak) posted after my first meeting with him..

At WEMF, we're all dancing to DAVE the Drummers renegade set in a sand field, when Deko-ze arrives and is busting it out behind us enjoying the tunes!

Seeing Todd when Petty told him that the short black guy behind us was actually Deko-ze, TODD fucking LOST HIS SHIT!!

He went NUTS and got so excited. It was fucking HILARIOUS and jokes to see... the shit he was rambling off to Deko-ze, so funny! Me and Petty were killing ourselves. It was great. The single best/funniest DJ meeting encounter I've ever witnessed!

I will refrain from posting a picture of DG and I record shopping @ a 2thebeat after party at 6am...but it exists.

The first time I met Ferry I was just in utter shock. I was up on stage with him while he was DJing. I tried to say something to him for about 10 minutes and just couldn't. Finally I introduced myself, told him I'd been waiting a long time to meet him, that I had made a shirt for the event (which I was wearing) and asked him to sign it. He was like "ummm where do you want me to sign it?" Hahaha

I was chit chatting with him throughout the night as he turned back to change CDs. I told him the reasons why I love his music and his personality. I told him how I was Flipino, just like his wife...and he told me to make sure I go up and talk to her (she was sitting down on the stage).

The second time I met him was at his Private VIP party in NYC for his new album release. I told him I had met him back in March at Crobar...he said he remembered me. This time I was more relaxed as he was just mingling with people. I talked to him about Holland, how I wanted to go there and he suggested the summer time being the best. We talked about his style of music and how it's changed drastically from when he started. Where he wants to go in his music and all sorts of things. Later in the night after his set we exchanged a kiss...(on the cheek) haha

Edit: I've also met Armin,Tiesto (briefly), Johan and a few others...but none of those experiences are comparable to my Ferry ones.
