This is exactly the shit TA doesn't need... separatist shit. The Oakey love/hate issue has been beaten to death already, we all know some like him, some don't. Starting up a thread like this may give some people laughs, but it probably makes more people angry than laugh.

Why do they get angry over the name calling? well obviously it doesn't do any harm to him, and no he probably won't ever hear it. Its the intentions and thoughts behind it that piss most people off. I happen to love all the great trance DJ's (Armin, Ferry, Tiesto, Johan, etc. etc....) AND i still love oakenfold. There are some DJ's i don't like, but you don't see me creating names to bash them. Why? Because what is the point? To get more people to not like you, to not respect your opinion anymore?

Fact is most people that say this "Oakenjoke" or "Jokenfold" shit probably haven't even heard a liveset from him since 2000... most of them probably have never even seen him live. A lot of them are just jumping on the "i hate oakey" bandwagon.

I'd rather see you mention a liveset you don't like, a mix he did that you thought was sub-par. SOMEthing to justify your opinion. And i can guarantee i could point out the same thing of Tiesto. Every DJ has bad sets, bad mixes. Just b/c you don't like their style or track selection doesn't mean they "suck" (as you so eloquently put it).

Why did i write so much about this? .... So you wouldn't think i posted just to add to my "post count"

Sit your lil' ass down in front of AG and get hold of any of the vintage Oakenfold sets from '99 ( try Cream, Home, or Gatecrasher for a start) and then go and see bloody Tiesto spin live, even a bigoted young whippersnapper like yourself will see the uncanny similarities. Trust me, there would be NO Tiesto for you to kiss ass of, if Oakie hadn't done it all before a few years previous.

And I'll tell you something else about long term credibility sonny boy - in another 5 or 6 years (when you're finally old enough to get into clubs and learn these things for yourself), Oakie will still be getting respected and spinning at the big events, and Tiesto's fashion rating will be right up there with Milli Vanilli

Most often when people "rag" on another DJ, they are usually criticizing his mixing skills, track selection, or vibe he puts out in the crowd. Simply starting a thread to say a DJ sucks, (any DJ, including Tiesto), and most TA's will come in and flame the guy for saying that. You have to list reasons for why you dislike something if you want your opinion to be taken seriously. This fact is not limited to Oakie, but any DJ.

And if you see Tiesto getting bashed for no specific reasons given, you should be telling the perpetrator the same thing i'm telling you.... and i'll back you up.
