i find it hard to take in that a pro that knows his stuff would spend weeks and months on little bits of a track, if i was that slow at my job id be unemployed!!

they know exactly what they are doin and should be able to eq quite quickly to fit bits into a mix along with comperssion etc.....

i dont really know what sounds rite so some proper awnsers was all i wanted, not a typing lesson...... been at the producing for a yr an a half but learning this from internet alone is seriously hard goin,

were did u or others learn how and what to do??? trial an error cant be the awnser!

Come back when you've actually put some effort in it. You don't create music in 10 minutes, just noise..

I spend about 40-50 hours on a track before its finished, take that in regard.

"wiv" regards to the sample it sounds ok what youve done. get loads more done though and post it up for peeps to comment.

Thats why some of the famous names have sound-engineers do the hard work for them!

If you wanna get there a little faster, you should take sound design lessons, maybe. Otherwise you�ll just have to practise, like most of us do!

Well, as mentioned before, you should try to put some effort in your productions, and with time try to gain your respect here. If you meet new people for the first time in the real world, i will promise you that no one will talk to you or give you an� help, if you start by calling them wankers, or what ever! Wtf, i would give you some real "whoop ass" that what you would get from me.

And regarding if it sound right! You need to practise youre ears, just like any part of your body. In fact, there are different things you can do to trainf them, but nothing i can think of now, but google it.

And one essential thing to do is to LEARN your gear, you monitors/headphones, get the best you can, it will make a differens and you will not kill you ears to soon. :P

Well my peronal experience, is from when i was about 17 (Now im 25) or something, i got my hands on the old software Rebirth, and from that day and forward, i have just done this for the fun of it and im learnig new things every day!

By saynig that, i hope you understand how much work there actully is behind all this, and thats why most of us think its ame when a new guy like you, just comes in and think you will get a whole tutorial on what to do.. etc etc.. just by posting a beat made in 10 minutes. But i think you know thats not how things go here. If you still dont get it, then u must be retarded or something.

what a turn around, everyone is gettin on fine now!! good.....

i have takin all on board and will get stuck into a tune, the last wile all ive been doin is what u heard on the sample, trying to perfect that first b4 messin wiv melodys, pads etc, someone said the sample sounded ok but that cant be rite as i dont really know what im doin, just tweaking the eq's and guessin it sounds ok, sometimes i thing i sounds really good until i listin to armin or ferry and then i realise its all wrong!!

substorm... hell of a tutorial but u couldnt kick my ass! ground and pound would happen to u....alough ur dead on...

people were bein silly and to blunt or cheeky so they got the title of w*****s......

this discussion has opened my mind and i feel a benfit of it so im gona make 2 or 3 mins of a track and ill work on it for 14 days then post it back in here for all to criticise which is what i want the more the merrier!!

any good uploaders???? and y mp3??? i thought mp3 was shit for quality, infact that is true...!

A couple of things.

1) Be aware that many of us on this forum have absolutely no problem giving feedback and tips. However you have to make our life easier too. This type of thread comes up every day and after a while we get tired of repeating ourselves. So your first port of call is to always use the search tool. If you cannot find an answer there feel free to post it here, in plain english so our European friends can understand what you are saying.

2) Use a decent host. I already suggested www.putfile.com. The reason for this should be obvious. If you want comments on your work make it easier on the people you are asking for help by uploading an mp3 so it can be downloaded quickly. Use a host that does not repeatedly crash my browser and throw pop ups in my face. Its just courtesy. If I have to spend 11 minutes just to get your 10 minutes of work playing in Winamp and then comment on it, there is a problem and you will have to forgive me if I think 'fuck this - I have better things I could be doing with my time.'

3) You don't need to spend 2 weeks writing a tune. Nobody is suggesting that. However there has to be some give and take. If you expect us to go to the effort of sorting out your shitty hosting for you then take the time out to teach you the production ropes whilst you put very little effort in at your end, don't be surprised when you get rebuffed like this. If you play nice, take the time out to respond calmly and think about the needs of other people on this board then you will be treated in kind. Respect here works both ways and you earn it.

I have no problem helping you out but I type essays almost daily for other people on this board too. You aren't the only person who wants help. Make my life easier and I'll make your life easier. Deal?

The fact is, he sounds like he should be producing hip hop, and he should be over at the futureproducers forum. They can read your method of speaking better.

i learnt most of my stuff from this forum by helping others i was helped also. this forum has really good people on it who have helped me uncountable times over the year.

when you get advice from substorm take it and dont whine at him. he gives away his secrets of his productions to help people on this board which most people would never do. if you need help with bass check out his reply to my thread about 4 months back that will surely sort your bass out.

and remember be nice!

Here substorm actually does take some time to help you by answering your questions and offering help, and you respond in a rude manner.. just amazing..
